LadyConstanze -> sunshinemiss hits the UK (7/22/2012 2:04:00 PM)

We had a fun Saturday, haunting the shops and charity shops (rich bounty), we were so packed up with bags that H had to come and pick us up, taking the train back would have been really difficult with the burden of our loot.

Apart from that we had great fun on our coffee break (after a small hickup - they had given the traveler £50 notes at the airport, not a lot of shops take them, banks wouldn't exchange them as you need to be a customer of the bank, so we had to find my bank, pay in the notes and then do a straight withdrawal - what a bunch of BS, we wasted about an hour of valuable shopping time), especially with the local dress sense, I explained the concept of 16 to 60 to sunny (women who are 60 wearing clothes that would be appropriate for 16 years) and both agreed after a few especially horrendous sightings that it is not a good idea to wear crop tops and lycra in size 30 just because some evil factory manufactures it.

After our shopping trip we had a pleasant rummage through boxes in the garage and played dress up (much to the delight of H who found lots of reasons to come to the garage), then ventured our for a curry, we had window seats and could watch people in the pedestrian area venturing out dressed up. It took quite some persuasion to explain to Sunny that they weren't going to a fancy dress party where the worst dressed person would win a prize, but that is how the locals dress (and yes, better legs and shoulders can be seen in most butcher shops, again, wearing mini skirts and shorts just because you can buy them is not always a smart choice), we had some bets on women literally tottering on high heels, but nope, no broken ankles...

It was a super fun day!!!!! Sunny is really great company, just be careful when you sip your drink, she might make a comment that has you snorting beverage out of your nose....

I'm so jealous, it sounds like a fantastic day was had by all.

YAY!! Sunny is such an awesome person!

Not in Newcastle by any chance LadyC? No need to answer....just the dress taste of the locals blew my mind when I was last up there. its the middle of winter, there's ice on the ground, its snowing, I as someone with a fair amount of time spent climbing in some of the worlds nastier ranges considered it 'feckin freezing' and yet the locals seemed to think t-shirt and shorts or mini-dress and halter top were the standard mode of dress....

LadyConstanze -> RE: sunshinemiss hits the UK (7/23/2012 1:32:36 AM)

Ha ha ha Thaz, nope, not Newcastle, Manchester. But Sunny is staying in Liverpool, so she's already quite used to seeing the Scouse brow and other amazing sights. I offered to take her to Witherspoons for some truly exceptional sights, but she politely declined and said she wanted to keep her food down.

Btw I love watching the miniskirts on particularly cold days as apparently there is some rule that says you can't wear stockings or miniskirts, so you see lots of orange legs (spray tans), if the legs turn blue underneath the orange spray tan, it's spectacular shades of green and you could think that they are wearing tights the colour of pea soup!

Here in Newcastle we call that mottled blue/purple leg thing "corned beef leg"...hehe

I wish I were as charming as Constanze portrays me! Sadly, that whore Peon did not make it down although I did have the great good fortune of chatting him up on the phone and to listen as Constanze gave him the tiniest bit of hell. (I'm sure he was standing at attention so to speak).

Charming, wonderful people H and C... and I fell in love with their darling Alfie, dumb as a box of rocks and cute as a button - just my type. I may have frightened a Brit or two as recompense for the cost of eye bleach.

What a fun fun time. Always happy to hop on a train to see you darling! *smooch*

*hugs*

Oh really? Funny enough walking Kia and Alfie I ran into the waiters from the curry house (the 2 younger ones who were so attentive to you and your cleavage), the one with the really exotic place of birth (around the corner, a Manc burb) wanted to know when I bring back my friend, the other one with the halting English nodded enthusiastic.

Btw, Alfie is slightly smarter than a box of rocks, rocks can't do tricks (took me long enough to teach him), I was a bit surprised that Kia wasn't on full "attention whore" behaviour, very unusual for her, but possibly due to having had surgery 2 days before and still a bit under the weather. Told you, if you'd have had a beer in your hands, she'd have been all over you!

It sounds like you had a good time. I'm glad you both had the chance.
