Just this last week, Shell Oil admitted that it can't meet EPA clean air standards it agreed to in order to get the permits it needs to drill in the Polar Bear Seas this summer. Even worse, Shell's own records show that they've known they wouldn't be able to meet these clean air standards since 2010.

Right now, EPA head Lisa Jackson needs to make a decision -- will she hold Shell to the clean air standards it agreed to, or let this one slide? Tell her on Facebook or Twitter to stand up to Shell.

Taking part in the destruction of society via placing confidence in the dwindling resource which fuels our entire planet, and thus supporting the industry which stops all better alternative energy technologies from any market share makes you a worthless human being. Not even mentioning your cheerful attitude from your activites of selling out the planet to in return get some worthless fiat currency. However that does not make you as near as worthless as those whose only means to combat such things are petitioning via twitter and facebook.

Or wear shoes, use a spoon, ever drank coffee from a paper cup, wear glasses, watch TV (use the internet), printed anything with ink, used a pencil, bought a package of (anything), listened to a CD, licked a stamp.....etc.?

He hates the oil companies but never answered the question. If I am destroying the planet by owning stock in an oil co. he is doing the same thing if he takes a bus or drives his own car. I do hope he fills up at a Conoco station though.

I think it was quite pertinent, based on the other posters more than strident comments.

No I don't drive or bus, I live in the city so I can cycle, which I prefer anyways not just out of hatred for big oil. I'm not going to pretend I'm living off the grid either, or not consuming anything manufactured from oil which is nearly impossible. I am simply stating that your views are quite pathetic, and that we all need to think bigger. Cars are not a problem, it is the fuel we use to power them that is. Not because it destroys the planet, but because the resource will inevitably disapear. Society is just 3 missed meals away from total anarchy and supporting oil is essentially supporting this end game. Again, we all need to think bigger. For example, Nikola Tesla invented a car that runs on electricity in the 30's, if he wasn't in direct competition with an industry such as oil, and people didn't have your greedy views. We would be living in a much better world, and we would probably have flying cars right now.

It's a good thing you don't live here in the Midwest. Riding that bicycle in 2 feet of snow in sub zeoe cold  to work everyday would be really hard. You ride your bike, I'm driving..
