Here's a photo of Oscar :) They are BOTH Kings in my house. I can't help but love them.

I was always a cat person and then a few months ago we brought Ginger and Cheri into our home. They are two bouncing little fluff balls that are smaller than the cats we have. The are two miniture American Eskimos and they adore Alandra and I.

Now that we are moving to an acreage next month, he decided that he wanted large dogs to safeguard our property, so we have Great Pryennes crosses and they are younger than the Eskies and much bigger than they are.

Cat rule and Dogs drool (or piss on the carpet) But I still have 2 of each and love them all.

Dogs rule, cats hack up furballs into your shoes.[8D]

GreedyTop -> RE: Dog person / Cat person? (7/24/2012 9:10:01 PM)

none of my cats have ever hacked hairballs into my shoes. Next to the bed, where I put my feet when I wake up, on occassion...

Always had cats ... my first was 2 weeks older than me. Most lived to 19 or so. my last 2 just passed away (littermates passed within 6 months of each other) and i'm catless for the first time .... strange to come home to an empty house. i'll prolly get a couple more soon. I love dogs too, but my lifestyle would drive them buggy.

Besides, i'm a sub... Cats are natural Dom/mes. We fit ...

He's a rockstar!

Aww thanks! And your Baby was a beauty. I'm so sorry for your loss.

As for hairballs, in 4 years of having Viktor, I've only seen two. On the floor. Not near my shoes. I brush him regularly, maybe that's why?

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: Dog person / Cat person? (7/24/2012 9:50:00 PM)

I'm a cat person through and through. Always have been.

I love both~each has their own benefits and challenges in taking care of them.

Oh yeah, when the kids were growing up, we had everything and I do mean everything -- dogs, cats, fish, ferrets, snakes, lizards, my son even kept a crawdad he found on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Sigh... ferrets!

Delilya -> RE: Dog person / Cat person? (7/25/2012 1:09:25 AM)

The furbabies are all so cute.

Phoenixpower -> RE: Dog person / Cat person? (7/25/2012 4:57:13 AM)

With 5 cats (ok, one of them walked off 2 weeks ago and I am pretty sure he found his new "only-cat-home" by now...so I am not genuinly worried about him, as he always did that shit as a previous homeless boy) I suppose I am a cat person.

I don't mind dogs...but would not have the time to give them the time they need...there I simply prefer the more independent cat creatures, which can still go outside on their own as long as they wish to....and once they have enough they miaow and their servant comes to the door to let them back in[8|]

Beside that....some of those dogs are quite large to share the bed with and often they smell, which isn't that much the case with cats....though of course....I am biased about that fact[:D]

There isn't anything more comforting that a big headbutt and purry smooch from a Coon. [:)]

Of course there is....didn't ya know??? its the massive headbutt from a birman[:)]

OMG HOW PRECIOUS!!!! I just wanna kiss him! I love dogs.

ML I had ferrets they are so cute and funny. I love how they sleep. And they are hilarious when they get a bath.

Just0Plain0Mike -> RE: Dog person / Cat person? (7/25/2012 12:23:09 PM)

I grew up with dogs. Got ferrets when I got my first apartment. Then married a cat person. We've since rescued 13 cats.

I actually just lost my oldest. A cat that Linda and I got from a shelter when she was 4 weeks old. At first we just thought she was sick and losing weight, but eventually found out it was cancer.

Winterapple -> RE: Dog person / Cat person? (7/26/2012 4:08:55 AM)

I love both and have both along with a menagerie
of other animals.

Thaz -> RE: Dog person / Cat person? (7/26/2012 11:14:29 PM)

I love both. But then I grew up in the country with Dogs and Cats and Horses and ....well lets just say my folks were always a soft touch for strays.

Cant have dogs where I live now and it wouldnt be fair given my and the Wench's schedules....but I miss my white long haired german shepard Freke who died of old age a bunch of years ago. Hmmm. Seems to be a tad dusty in here, something in my eye perhaps <schniff>

slaneeshianpryns -> RE: Dog person / Cat person? (9/8/2012 7:58:32 PM)

Dogs are the best, especially for camping retreats. Cats are a living home ornamentation, albeit a fuzzy, sometimes loving one.
