No, "dumb" would be these crazy straw man arguments of yours [:D]

The word I used was suggestion, which, that they deserve a say is what was suggested, and what is clearly being discussed

Whats dumb is any suggestion that they should have a say in our elections.

What's dumb is any suggestion that anyone said any such thing.

You really can not see that it might be relevant to the rest of the world just who is elected as President of the USA? That people outside of the US might have a vested interest in this, too? [8|]

You become relevant when you become a US citizen and can vote for the US President, until then, your opinion on who the US President should be really doesn't matter.

Maybe AFTER Mitt wins the election, the world's opinion might matter... But then again it might not. Get beck to us when his policy has an effect on your nation, ok?

The bolded is a classic example of the 'free speech' principles of right wingers in America and also shows their healthy respect for the First Amendment.

Now tell me, how did that same principle work out in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan, and also while you're at it, tell me how the principle pans out for Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, and everywhere else?

No we know how it was, don't we?

Just like with the 'wars' in Iraq and Afghanistan, it's only the Americans killed that are worthy of rememberance.

Thing is America isn't Number One any more. And while it may seem cool and acceptable to be ignorant, racist, sexist, and xenophobic in the ranks of the Tea Party and back on the trailer park, it isn't acceptable to most in the world, and I would wager, to most Americans (including those who would be voting for a Republican presidential candidate if they had a decent candidate to vote for).

I don't mind Mitt Romney winning and becoming US President, because on the strength of what has happened in England and Israel alone, he would make a comical President.

But then again I'm not American.

We save their asses again and again, provide for their defense so they can put half their population on welfare and all they do is bitch. Whats dumb is any suggestion that they should have a say in our elections. Do they ever seek our opinion as to who they should knight? Or who they should marry into their royal family? I dont think so.

If theyre not our subjects and we cant tax them theyre merely loud obnoxious ungrateful and discourteous backseat drivers arent they, especially in light of their rude treatment of Mitt Romney - and theres no reason they shouldnt be ignored.

What a load of ignorant trollish bullshit. I`m guessing you are trying to get another thread you dont like locked.

Tell me exactly how your opinion on a kink site might influence someone who is considered a swing voter again?... My simplistic view must be missing something.

Frankly yours, Lucy's or the old man's opinions really don't mean much in a US Presidential election... Just as mine, Sanity's. or Heretic's don't mean much in a British or Canadian election.

Frankly non of our opinions count prior to an election. Not yours, not mine. [8|]

Lucylastic -> RE: Mitt`s Umpteenth Blunder.....This One In Israel. (7/29/2012 4:26:52 AM)

Id like to see where any "furriner" has said about wanting to get a vote in an election, or suggesting we should have a say in the election. ANYWHERE???
Its pure sour grapes that a kink message board has many non americans with strong opinions. Its not going to stop anyone, wether its liked or not.
Talk about suppression of free speech
The fails are amusing

In which case, I'm sure you won't be voting for a politican who thinks that the loudmouthed pricks deserved a grovelling apology and retraction of his discourteous comment, then?

TEL AVIV, Israel -- U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney plans to raise campaign money in private while in Israel, so what he tells wealthy American supporters abroad will be kept quiet from voters at home.

Romney's campaign is barring reporters from a fundraiser at Jerusalem's King David Hotel and not saying why. At U.S. events, Romney's remarks to donors in communal spaces such as hotels are typically public.
Some of Romney's wealthiest U.S. supporters plan to attend Monday's fundraiser. They include casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, who's donated millions to a group backing Romney and is a leading backer of Republican Jewish groups in the U.S.

Donors at the event were asked to contribute $50,000 or to raise $100,000. Romney advisers say the event is expected to raise more than $1 million. The fundraiser will be relatively small, likely with about 50 attendees, giving Romney the chance to interact more personally than he does in many of the larger events.

Politicians make gaffes. That's nothing new. Boris Johnson gets to laugh at Mitt Romney making one because most of the world has laughed at Boris making them.

The problem comes when people take them seriously, or take others laughing at them seriously. Right now, there are Romney supporters going out of their way to make Boris look foolish. This is wholly unnecessary, he's got it covered just fine, thanks.

Moonhead -> RE: Mitt`s Umpteenth Blunder.....This One In Israel. (7/29/2012 10:04:14 AM)

If they actually have to work at making Boris "the blond Roderick Spode" Johnson look ridiculous, they probably aren't up what passes for political debate these days...

Advisor says one thing, Romney says, not so much..

“If Israel has to take action on its own, in order to stop Iran from developing that [nuclear weapons] capability, the governor would respect that decision,” said Dan Senor, a foreign policy adviser to Mr Romney.

However, in comments on American television and in the Jerusalem speech, Mr Romney would only say on Sunday night that he supported Israel’s “right to defend itself”.

Because your opinion doesn't count even less than his doesn't count.
