I would have chatted with her a minute, and informed her where and when the next munch is.

This. ^^^^

She follows us around the store with that facinated look you tend to get from those who think about it alot.

I'd think she's either seriously repressed or mentally imbalanced to be acting like that, either way what could you possibly say to her besides "Don't make me use the bear mace!"?

JstAnotherSub -> RE: Being Spotted (8/1/2012 2:40:47 PM)

Are you sure yall didn't have some toilet paper on ya shoe? Or maybe spinach on ya teeth? Booger hangin off ya nose?

I mean, it is wallywerld.

RaspberryLemon -> RE: Being Spotted (8/1/2012 3:23:44 PM)

Politely asking her not to follow you would have been a good solution. Following a stranger is pretty weird/awkward, but you didn't seem to have given her any indication that you were uncomfortable with it.

ARIES83 -> RE: Being Spotted (8/1/2012 4:18:00 PM)

If she thought you were master and slave, and
already had a curiosity towards that kind of thing
she was probably just interested.

Depending on the extent she was following you,
there wasn't any action you should have taken.
Just be aware that you will get a certain amount
of interest in public from the bdsm curious if you
wear some symbol of your relationship/lifestyle.

JanahX -> RE: Being Spotted (8/1/2012 4:26:43 PM)

I myself would of asked her "what do you want?"

dublinemma -> RE: Being Spotted (8/1/2012 6:06:13 PM)

I decided to give a different perspective here. In my opinion Ireland is a bit behind in the BDSM buzz, i was 19/20 before I even knew what it was! Therefore, if I saw somebody walking around in something I knew was BDSM related I wouldn't go so far as to follow them but I wouldn't be able to stop myself from staring as much as I could. Maybe she is similar in the sense that she might not have seen it advertised in public like that. After I would have recovered from my initial embarrasment, I would love if the person I was staring at stopped and had a chat with me and like others said suggested I go to the next munch or something!

Like others said if you don't want the attention, keep it private, you only have yourself to blame for the awkwardness you felt.

I love the safe word t-shirt in home depot idea, that would be hilarious!

I don't think the poor girl was trying to jump
your bones I think it was as Lilly suggested
she was curious and trying to work up the
courage to ask you some questions.
You could have done as Steven suggested
and told her about a local munch and
that would probably have been that.
If you're going to wear something that
tags you prepare to be tagged.

I've had people come up to me when
I'm wearing one of my corsets and ask
questions and sometimes reach for a pat.
Some people have never seen anyone
in person wearing a corset. And in public
I'm not wearing it in a way that screams
kinky but it's obvious some people assume
that.

And it's great to see you posting again,Lilly!
Yay!

littlewonder -> RE: Being Spotted (8/1/2012 9:36:05 PM)

Here's an alternate view of this situation.

Maybe you just THOUGHT she was following you because you were already a little taken aback and you wanted to make sure no one else heard or she frightened you in someway and now you're just a little paranoid?

I mean Walmarts are not that big. It doesn't take much to run into the same person at least a few times as you both are strolling down the aisles. Maybe you just felt uncomfortable due to your shock.

Just another way of looking at it.

That is pretty much what I'm thinking. I mean the whole thing just reeks of all the cloak & dagger melodrama of the BDSM sphere. "Being spotted" sounds like something out of a Bourne movie.

If the girl in question was young and cute then I'm doubling down on the "it's all in his head" theory.

ToSirWithLove13 -> RE: Being Spotted (8/2/2012 2:55:30 AM)

Thank you guys,

That was very informative. It really helped to be able to read all of your responses and examine them in context. I was able to figure out what was bothering me so much. This is probably the first time in 7 or 8 years where i had no desire to chat up the girl to see where it might lead. I've been with my current treasure for about a month now and I am still getting used it. I am just not used to being happy and the feelings that come with it.

Thanks again for helping me sort it out.

I'm not sure what you call big, but our local WalMart is huge!

littlewonder -> RE: Being Spotted (8/2/2012 10:59:08 AM)

yeah, they might be big but for example, when I shop with my girlfriend and we go our separate ways to buy things there, it doesn't really take me all that long to find her as I'm strolling in and out of aisles.

the last walmart i was at,.. I leave my cart and go around picking up stuff in nearby isles cuz I find it faster and easier.. twice a Walmart employee came by to take my cart away, once I caught her as I was only a few feet away, the last time it was sooooo frustrating cuz i had to go around the store and find all the items all over again... I was not impressed! [>:]

But speaking of being "spotted",.. when i was younger i went to a big drug store and bought a vibrating massager (exactly like the Hitachi wand) as drug stores sell them for people with sore muscles and backs, etc.. [;)] I was standing in line at the cashier and a guy was in line behind me, he looked at what I was buying and.. oh man, the look he gave me! he knew i was not buying it for any sore back or sore muscles,.. he immediately had this look in his eye, lustful, like he was saying "I know exactly why you are buying that and I wanna help you out!".. I felt like the helpless lil bunny out in the middle of the field with the eagle circling above looking for prey, ready to swoop down... I tried to ignore him but felt him watching me,.. I quickly paid for it and walked as fast as i could out of the store and into my van before the guy could follow and corner me.. whew! [:D]
