My owner is a smoker and doesn't care if I smoke or not, I want to quit but need an appropriate time and place.

Does your owners/masters dictate smoking or not?

* My Owner already knows I will not call him master for religious purposes. I only have 1 true master*

I don't smoke except for a cigar a few times a year.

To the larger question, my domme only has the ability to "allow" what I let her "allow." It's like a job interview -- each side has as much power as the other side allows. Ultimately, a sub can say "no" to anything. And the dom has the right to walk away because the "no" makes ths situation not work for them.

Smoking is just one thing I will not allow. The appropriate time would be before meeting me. The appropriate place would be, far away from me.

Using FR:

Smoking is a nasty, horrible awful addiction and just a disgusting habit. I can say this, I used to be a smoker !!

Kudos to each and every one of you who has quit or is even trying to quit.

And I agree, I have heard it is a worse addiction than heroin.

When I met himself, I had quit smoking. I underwent some considerable stress and took it up again. Quit (again). Started again. Went back and forth for about five years. Quit for about five years. Smoked for about five years. Have been "clean" for three.

At no time did he try to dom me into quitting, which I know was hard; he has never smoked and didn't want a smoker in his life.

He was wonderfully supportive the entire time.

Telling me not to smoke would not have worked *for me.* I had to get there myself.

Once upon a time, you would have risked death to pry my Marlboros from my fingers.

Today I cannot stand even the faintest scent of them. I have threatened to Fabreeze my graphic designer.

KaleidoKenlyn -> RE: Does your dom allow this (8/12/2012 7:19:01 AM)

My dom doesn't smoke and I do. He hasn't asked me to quit and I don't think I would if he asked. It's something that an individual should decide to do on their own. For sure, having encouragement from your dom would help you succeed, if it were something you undertook on your own. I don't have any other vices. I already eat healthy and exercise frequently. Smoking is the one thing I do, and I don't imagine my dom cares overly much, though I'm not allowed to smoke in the bedroom. :/

lilmissdefiant -> RE: Does your dom allow this (8/12/2012 7:36:47 AM)

Both myself and my New Owner ([:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D]) smoke and we enjoy it. but if he requested I quit I would ask him to do the same.

Itsalwaysthere -> RE: Does your dom allow this (8/12/2012 8:48:50 AM)

ew... I try to limit the hard limits, but I only smoke when I'm on fire...

Oside Girl....'tis true. My ex languishes at the Iron Bar Hilton, and states without reservation that cessation of slamming junk is a walk in the park compared to forsaking the coffin nail.

My Master is a vehement anti-smoker and He gave me 6 months to quit. There is no way I was going to lose a man I love and respect over smoking. It was not easy but I did it. Then all of these "side benefits" began happening. I can taste food again, my breath does not stink, nor do my clothes or my home. My breathing is so much better and I am saving a carload of money - not to mention my lungs and likely my life.

Of all the things this man gifted me, this was perhaps the very best gift of all.

(Noting though that as I worked to quit, I "occasionally" cursed the Man, in a very submissive and respectful way of course :) )

I do not smoke; never have. But my Sir does dictate other aspects of my life and would not allow me to spoke. He is very conscious of my health and wants me to be as healthy as I can be. So no smoking, drinking only in moderation, plenty of exercise and not too many trips to Taco Bell.

fannyslut -> RE: Does your dom allow this (8/25/2012 5:22:40 AM)

I smoked 2 packets of Cigs every day for many years until my Mistress decided one night last year that I was wasting a lot of time smoking
when I could be doing more house working.

She ordered me to stop, it was hard for a few weeks but as a faithfull slave I obeyed, whe she smokes she blows smoke in my face and uses
my mouth as her ashtray.
That is now over 2 years and I am happy and healthy.

Sorry but I think that's totally hyporcitical on her part. Glad that you're happy with the arrangement but since she made you quit she should also refrain from exposing you to second hand smoke since it is a health risk...if in fact that was her reason for making you quit.

Dom as therapist/Tony Robbins-motivator has a terrible (but hilarious) track record. You gotta know when to fold, D-wise.

But in our home, I banned smoking inside the house and car (not domination, just stink-prohibiting). I also paid for chantex and electronic cigarettes. The E-sig really, really helped. She's off cigs 6 months and still uses it. Idiots still give her grief for using it, but there's no smell and health risk, so we just laugh at them. Letting her be her and supporting her in just getting on with whatever she needs to do has proven to be 100% successful in all cases. Of course, having a partner of such grace, strength, and integrity has played at least a minor role as well.

Sort of off topic, but I'm curious. What does this mean?

DOM68005 -> RE: Does your dom allow this (8/25/2012 10:16:54 PM)

I've never been a smoker and have posted that when I find a sub, she will not either.
As an added thought, I have observed many former smokers are among the few that are bothered by smokers more than I am.

subsandywhich -> RE: Does your dom allow this (8/29/2012 11:53:07 PM)

My Master, Mistress and myself all smoke and im allowed to smoke as long as it dosent interfere with my chores and duties. They wouldnt order me to quit unless my health made it dangerous to smoke, like when i got bronchitis and i was limited in the amout i could smoke and enciuraged to stop for a time. If i felt i needed to quit They would support me and help me
