First,

Second of all, the search function is a fantastic feature on this side of CM. I understand that you are completely new here and it can be a bit overwhelming.

Part of learning is reading and understanding on your own. Some people may be willing to feed you all the answers, but you can easily get them yourself. You can search here or if that isn't helpful.. google is a fantastic tool.

I wish you well in your new adventure.

Allie

A Dom is someone who wants to be in control. A Daddy Dom is a subset of Doms - someone who has more tenderness than most Doms, and maybe does ageplay. I know, that answer probably raises more questions than it answers.

Um, your profile says you're married. How does your husband fit into all this?

Welcome to the forums, Scarlett!

I found a few books on Amazon. Or, if you just want general information about the lifestyle Google is your friend as Shininglight suggested.

Because you mention 50 Shades on your profile, I thought I'd point out that it doesn't have a good rep in the BDSM community. See http://www.collarchat.com/m_4169536/tm.htm

Try some of the non fiction from this list: http://www.collarchat.com/m_1726118/tm.htm

I don't think we can tell someone what book to like based on a perception of some in the "community".

Again, this book is the gift that keeps getting under people's skin and I think the author is probably quite amused by this backlash. All the way to the bank apparently.

If the OP wants a guy like Christian Grey or Edward Scissorhands, it is either a cute way of saying she likes powerful men and I am assuming she knows they are fictional or...she could be living in fantasy land.

Either way, it is not for us to tell her what book should or should not be on her profile.

Let me restate my point. In her own words, she's "completely new;" I recommend she read this article:

BDSM advocates say E.L. James's books perpetuate myths about BDSM community

Thank you everyone.
I have always loved powerful men...I just don't have many references that are common to put into my profile. Before FSOG, all I could come up with were CEOs, Vampires, and Police Officiers.

Ever read the Stephanie Plum books? Ranger is so alpha, I swear I drool when I'm reading. He's calm, cool and collected. He could kick your ass if he needed to, but he'd prefer to use his head.

Hi !!

While we are recommending books, let's not overlook the Stainless Steel Rat.

Slippery Jim is dom, if anyone is.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stainless_Steel_Rat

OKay, maybe I am overselling it a little bit.

Ranger, oh yeah!

And I haven't read the Stainless Steel Rat stories for damn near 40 years. Thanks for the memory.
