For 10 points  How did Led Zepplin get their name?

If I recall the story correctly it came from a gig that the band was going to do and someone made the comment that they hoped that they wouldn't go over like a lead balloon.

What little known actor (famous now) got their start(I believe it was their debut on film) in the movie To Kill A Mockingbird?

It was Keith Moon of the who, he said to robert plant that the band would drop like a led zepplin.....

Where did the phrase Heavy Metal originate from?

Black Sabbath - Lead guitarist ( cant recall his name)   he played differently after he cut the tip of his thumb and finger off at work.

ElectraGlide -> RE: Trivia, Random (6/10/2006 4:48:25 PM)

Black Sabbaths lead guitarist is Tony Iommi a true heavy metal god and master.

Yep. That is where the term came from. Nicely done.

Ummm... who posts the next question?

MDPA1962 -> RE: Trivia, Random (6/10/2006 5:47:10 PM)

That One was a stumper

swtnsparkling -> RE: Trivia, Random (6/11/2006 2:54:06 AM)

Heacy metalTommy Iommi's musical career was nearly derailed prematurely when he suffered a horrible accident at a sheet metal factory, when a machine sliced off the tips of the fingers on his right hand.  Iommi gave the six-string another go, with soft plastic tips attached to the ends of his fingers. 1970 that Black Sabbath inaugurated what many consider the "true" feeling of heavy - the band would explore dark lyrical subjects, while the music would be repetitive, plodding, and H-E-A-V-Y. In the process,  Sabbath created the blueprint for heavy metal
Steppenwolf was the first group to Use the term in a song.

Believe it or not, this object is a whip. Whips are also known for the distinctive cracking noise they make as the move through the air.
This crackling is actually the result of a miniature sonic boom being created by the tip as it travels faster than Mach 1.

MDPA1962 -> RE: Trivia, Random (6/11/2006 4:39:12 AM)
