ORIGINAL: DaddySatyr Richmond Times Dispatch Op/Ed by Governor Bob McDonnell The rhetoric coming from the Obama campaign has shown that the president seems to have a certain disdain for people who work to improve their lot in life. Now, he has done what a lot of us have been asking him to do for quite a while. He has "stepped up to the plate". The trouble is; we're not playing baseball. He's playing with peoples' lives and our money. To sum up the link above, the current failure-in-chief has circumvented the 1996 "welfare-to-work" portion of the bipartisan reform bill. There's a couple of ways we can look at this, I guess. Either the president does loathe the fact that people work (which explains his ineffectual economic recovery plan) or he is saying that a whole bunch of people (President Clinton amongst them) were wrong in 1996. The only argument for this action that I can think of is that with his (Obama's) failure to stimulate the economy, as promised, it's kind of tough to require people to work in order to get their government check. All of that aside, a law that was passed by congress and signed by a former president has been gutted - in a round about way - by a sitting president that hasn't managed to get America back to work but he's managed to find another way to squeeze more money out of the people that do work. Kudos, once again, go to the great destroyers! Peace and comfort, Michael Well first off, you construct the typical and absolutely false premise that the pres. campaign has done any such thing. So we start from a lie. His welfare offer has done no such thing as I am sure you know...it is a slow news day apparently. So we continue with another lie. I guess Ryan's proposal to finally invade Mexico and Canada, you know...to get this continent finally united in our greed and corruption...just didn't make the prime-time cut hey ?
