I have been looking at this site for 10 minutes, and going OH MAN I REMEMBER THAT!!

I am so old.....candy cigarettes, wax bottles with yucky sugar water, squirrel nut zippers.

Good times!

They sell those too! We used to wear them until they were just yucky mush where your teeth were sposed to keep them on your face.

Lots of memories there.....damn!! My teeth are dissolving just looking at all that stuff. It's nice to see that someone is still making all that stuff too. Most kids today have no clue about the variety of sugary treats that were available when I was a kid. For a quarter I could get two or three days worth of candy to keep me energized.

LMAO
Knew and loved many of these, but hadn't heard of squirrel nut zippers and asked g if he had. He answered positively and I thought I'd missed out of something tasty.
So I took a look at the site and asked him what "type" of candy it would be.... he said he wasn't talking about candy but a group. I googled and sure enough the squirrel nut zippers are a group. Music and sugar go so well with my relationship dynamic.
Yummy.

I knew they were a swing/jazz band, I was just waiting to see if anyone was going to mention it

Why does no one ever mention Pop Rocks...?

I beat the hell out of samdarella with some Twizzlers last week because I couldn't find any Licorice Whips at the 3 stores I looked in. Licorice Whips are ten times worse then those shorts strands you pull off of the Twizzlers. I have even braided Licorice Whips to make a very nasty cat. Be careful when going to the movies with a sadist and they ask, "want some candy little girl?"

I remember those. Never liked them though. They have a weird grainy texture.

Awwww, I miss the Pez, Rock Candy, Bazooka Joe Bubble Gum, Sweet Tarts, and Sunday mornings at the soda fountain where I'd spend all my allowance on a hot fudge sunday. Oh Calgon, take me away and back to simpler times.

Thanks for the bittersweet trip down Memory Lane.

My sisters and I would always sit at the soda fountain on Saturdays and order rootbeer floats while my mom was getting her hair done down the street. The owner was good friends with my dad so we never had to actually pay for them. That was a lot of fun.
