We will also have a contract specific to us. Again it will not take away the fun or spontaneity of the relationship but will act as a written reminder of what we agreed upon. I trust Him completely and know He would never go back on His word, but our memories are not what they used to be. And the outside world and stresses do take up brain space. The contract would get reviewed and updated periodically to reflect how our relationship may have changed.

This is the same reason for our contract/commitment document. We'll review it every 6 months as an opportunity to tweak it in any way. We had some of the best conversations putting it together.

Funny, I've mentioned this "commitment document" to several of my "vanilla" friends and family, and they thought it was an awesome idea.

Life is simple. But not so simple I could write it down. Not afterwards and certainly not beforehand.

I write my manifestos for myself. The intention of its writing is to put myself down in words and to be able to look at it objectively and definitively and hopefully in there figure myself and where I'm at out. So they get written when I start a new courtship and when things go inexplicably pear shaped and no one except me gets to read them. Sometimes I think all Dom/mes need to get in the manifesto habit just so we can laugh at and get over ourselves.
