Status: offline 		A former Israeli Defence Force (IDF) sniper has been sentenced to serve 45 days in prison for the deaths of two Palestinian women while they were under the protection of a white flag in Gaza on Day 1 of the infamous IDF invasion of Gaza (aka Cast Lead). Over 1400 Palestinians were killed - the vast majority of them civilians - during the IDF's murderous 3-week rampage.

A Palestinian life is worth 22 and a half days of an Israeli life. No prizes for guessing how many decades in prison a Palestinian would get for murdering an Israeli - if they managed to survive their arrest. Such is the reality of Israeli apartheid justice.

This episode marks yet another stark admission by Israel of its war crimes against Palestinian civilians. It first came to international attention when it was recorded by the UN-commissioned Goldstone Report (Sept 2009), which accused Israel of multiple war crimes during the invasion.

As the OP made clear, the original report was by well-known and respected UK paper, The Times Online, on March 20 2009 under the byline of its correspondent James Hider. As it happens, The Times is published by Sanity's good mate, Rupert Murdoch (of Fox TV fame), a man with impeccable pro-Zionist credentials. I couldn't cite the Times website as it is a pay site and I don't subscribe to any of Murdoch's enterprises.

WTF???
Thats totally inhumane and unfair!
They should only get 45 minutes and be paid triple wages for their time. damn!

I never said anyone deserved it. I just said I would find the whole "value life" easier to believe if they stopped killing thier own kids. And I really don't care what someone steals from me or how they treat me. I will never find that kind of extreme acceptable. You don't strap bombs to children. That you seem to think it's ok says much about you also.

There's a reason though, why a disco is bombed in Bali and a man is whipped mercilessly for having a drink or two in Mali

This post correctly identified the core issue of this thread - what is the value of human life. Sadly, that's about all it got correct. The Israeli apartheid 'justice' system tells us very clearly how much it values Palestinian lives - 2 Palestinian lives are worth 45 days (possibly less with remission) of the liberty of the IDF thug who committed the cold blooded murders. That [sentence] just doesn't sound like something a court would do if it honestly vaulued life. Murderers get life in most justice systems, sometimes execution.

Who is the unspecified "they" here? Is it the Palestinian people? Or heaven forbid, Palestinian children? Is it the tiny bunch of extremists who engage in such abhorrent tactics? Or it the outrageous racist smear that all Palestinians are suicide bombers? Should we take all Israelis on the basis of Rabbi Kahane's ultra-right racism, violence and philosophy of racial (Jewish) supremacy?

Why does the post weasel out of commenting directly on the OP? Does the poster agree with the travesty of justice being perpetrated here? The only people involved in the OP that merit the description "That just doesn't sound like something people would do if they honestly vaulued life." are those involved in the Israeli apartheid 'justice' system, which gives us more than enough proof to earn the description 'they don't honestly value human life'. This is a pathetic sentence that demonstrates the total contempt the Israeli apartheid 'justice' system has for Palestinian lives.

The inability or unwillingness of the pro-Zionist responses to the OP to express any sympathy with the victims shows a cowardly callousness that is despicable. In their posts, Palestinian lives appear unworthy of a mention. Instead we are treated to some devious attempts at blame shifting. The argument (in as much as there is one) seems to be that the other side's atrocities justify Zionist atrocities, or perhaps more accurately. that Israeli atrocities are somehow less atrocious than Palestinian ones, that Israeli atrocities are 'purer' than Palestinian ones. A contemptible double standard to say the very very least.

Apartheid is one of the most obscene vicious forms of government and justice ever conceived of and perpetrated. Yet the apologists for Zionism don't even rate it worthy of a mention. The 'sentences' here are so inadequate they are almost pats on the back of the IDF thug who murdered these poor women. That doesn't rate a mention either. Such silences are indicative of a posture that rates Palestinian lives so lowly they don't even deserve the facade of justice, let alone the substance.

Most thinking compassionate people who are not racists see and condemn the atrocious acts of both sides in this tragedy. Your problem is your personal hate for Jews overshadows your judgment and impartiality.

Condemning one side and ignoring the actions of the other will not stop the killing and end the suffering.

I join you in condemning any atrocious act by the state of Israel… it is just in threads of the past you have proven yourself to be prejudiced and it carries over into every thread you post including this one. That is why you get the responses you do.

I knew they did it in other countries, but I wasn't aware that it was legal over there. Maybe you could name some of the countries where it is legal to strap a bomb on a child and send him into a crowd of people?
