I was talking to a submissive recently that was surprised to discover that people can record your play and show it to others anytime they want too. One person I knew actually discovered the dom actually had stills of her play on his yahoo account. I really wanted to ask 2 questions.
1st. How importain is cam sessions to your training or getting to know one another?
2nd. Has anybody had their image used without their permission or have had great experiences from having a cam to interact with ?

I am not an expert, however I would assume unless someone has some sophisticated equipment it is not that easy to do.

Why someone would do that if it is someone they care for is beyond me but this is the net and the net is simply that.....the net, and you never know what someone will do

Not at all important. I have no interest in 'online only'. It is nice to see the face of the girl whilst arranging to meet in real life but not 'important'. I don't 'train' online and if I do cam it is a bit of fun between myself and a girl I am already involved with.

Email and MSN is of more importance as even when we are apart we can be having discussions about various topics that lead us to understand each other better, but cam?... totaly OPTIONAL extra.

Still shots are quite easy and almost anyone with a keyboard can capture still shots from any webcam they’re viewing.
I’m not real hip on using my webcam. We usually only use it to talk to people we already know and it’s pretty boring crap of just seeing the other person type. Occasionally there’s the rare excitement of focusing it on the cat so the other person can see the bird they caught. *wow*

I totally have zero interest in watching or participating in someone getting their kink on via webcam. And I strongly feel that if one is broadcasting their genitals, bondage gear, dildos, and nipples on camera, on the internet, they shouldn't be an ounce suprised when their employer/spouse/parent/priest/etc calls them on it.

If someone wants to capture a still shot of me typing, taking a sip of coffee, and maybe occasionally picking a fleck of lent out of my eye, have at. I’m seriously doubting it could ever possibly be used against me in any manner whatsoever.

I don't like webcams - seems every perve out there is like yeah i can get my rox off!! Maybe thats just my experience of them.

I havent had a bad experience of webcam being made into stills but i did have sum1 i let take sum photos end up trying to sell them without my permission. Before you say it i truly trusted this person and never thought they wud do anything like that.

I have taken stills of a guy I know who was camming. We are both house nudists and he was wearing nothing but his collar, showing off for the cam. I showed them to him, of course (one in particular just had "cute" written all over it), but other than that, they have not left this computer. But point is it is extremely easy to capture stills from a webcam. Everyone can do it, and I am not surprised that someone found stills of themselves posted on the internet. It comes down to knowing who you are talking to. I've had good friends of mine cam off their sessions to me, and me them, but no stills or video of that was taken because we were both sort of sharing the momment. I do have stills of his dog though, who is happily known as the "spawn of Satan" by his slave. I get to meet all of them come AC, this Thursday. I can't wait. :D So yeah, all happy experiences here, but I can see where it could be a bad thing.

Most of the time I cam to people and they cam back, it is simply us, sitting in front of the compy, typing, or me showing off my art.

Cam session are of absolutely ZERO importance. Nada. Zilch. Zip.

I have no idea if anyone has used MY image without permission, but then again, I only have stills out there in internet land.

Word of advice and caution regarding intenet interactions and privacy.

First: NOTHING, and I mean absolutely NOTHING you email, post or transmit over the internet is PRIVATE. NOTHING is. Not your email, not messages posted on a bulletin board, not pictures you share, not webcams, not nothing. YOUR service provider has access. Your intended recipients ISP's have access. Any service provider that carries and transmits the information has access.

Second: Don't put anything over the internet that you would not be willing to have posted on a billboard sign on Interstate 75. No, not _everyone_ will see it, no one in your family may ever cruise by that billboard, maybe none of your friends will drive by, but plenty of people certainly can.

We own a cam. We use our cam. More often than not to only collect dust, however, it is being used for something. On a serious note, training via the webcam, only makes Him laugh out loud and me just kinda roll my eyes. But, that also goes with the whole training online and owning online slaves. I have yet to discover how any real TPE can happen via online and typed words.. but that's off topic. Our cam has been used by us to chat mainly with friends, it's also been used for "verification" purposes to prove that someone says who they are. Cams can be a handy tool for this purpose. I wouldn't suggest, however, using your cam for the purposes of "training"... but to each thier own i suppose.

Oh, and i learned how to snag screen shots from webcams in all of two keystokes and two mouseclicks. Something for all of us girls to remember when having a cam on in a public chat room ( eh, guys to for that matter ) . It's to easy to snag those sought after "tit shots" that can either be used at a later date by the snap-er, or to be used to incriminate you later. There are creepy perverts lurking in the shadows of EVERY chat room, just waiting to capture his "money shot " .

I don't even own a web cam, and have no intention of getting one. I've got a microphone, so I could probably do voice chat, but I don't know how to use it, so I don't use that either.

For my purposes, I don't really care what someone looks like, and watching someone "scene" on a web cam would be the Internet equivalent of a masturbation scene in a porno. If I fast-forward through those when I'm trying to get turned on, why would I want to watch it on my computer? I use the Internet as an additional means of meeting people and discussing items of interest to me. If I'm interested in meeting someone in person, then I'll ask them for a photo so I know who I'm looking for when we do set up a meeting.

If people are dumb enough to get naked and put themselves in a compromising position, on camera, for a complete stranger, then they've got no business complaining when their actions get plastered all over someone else's website.

I agree with the majority of others here who warn against camming for the simple reason it is so easy to capture images and post them all over the net. The person you trust today may turn out to be a commplete as*hole after a breakup and do something like this in childish revenge.

But hey, the problem didn't start with the net and camming. Exactly the same thing has been happening for years in r/l with cameras and home videos. One girl I met on the net and became close friends with sent me a nice 'nilla photo of herself so that I could visualise the person I was chatting with. She was very shocked when I sent back a couple of pics of a naked girl in bondage and asked.. "eeeerrrrr is this you?". It seems she had trusted her ex of a couple of years far more than she should have.

I would suggest that one needs to be extremely confident of a very long term relationship before there is any consideration given to cam, photo or home video.

Alt + PrtScn = the active window is screen shotted, then open paint, or any other paint application - PaintShop, Painshop Pro etc. Then paste the image and save, save as - its that simple.

Without the correct recording knowledge, and you can buy/try recording applications for webcam's at any of the download sites out there, simple!

Webcam with those you trust - and never get the nasties out until you have met them in person, verified who they are - got an application filled in and references sought. Get the FBI and CIA to verify it all - and ya away to happy camming-land. Simple really :D

I have noticed alot of Doms are expecting cam services first and if they think you will work out , a possiable meeting . It is sounding more like people are either trying to play it safe (or at least they think its safe) to play on the internet and not physically meet. I gather the power over another or the fact that humilation and control over another is what they seek. The worst case would be a form of future black mail that could be used againest another after gaining information about the other persons employment and address.. I hope this hasn't gone to this level yet and I am just being wishful in my thinking ...
The comment made earlier about how public our lives are out here is a true one. I can see how humilation and cam play could go together...but I would be interested to hear what a person - either dom- or slave - recieved out of play with one?

You know...maybe i'm just weird but i could never get off watching my computer screen. maybe i need to treat my computer more like a person. *shrug* I don't like camming and we mainly use ours for family or long distance friends. The first meet in public is far more important than the puter in my opinion.

As a Dominant, I have absolutely no issues in camming or even chatting. I generally go straight from reading the basics to picking up the phone and meeting them. Right away. I can't read anything about someone from what they're willing to do in front of a computer.

I can see how camming would be a fun tool for us to use, together, but i wouldnt do this with another. And as we only have 1 computer, im not sure how useful it would be.
My phone usually does what we need it to. And more portable too

But id assume that anything i put out on cam, could, end up open day for all at some point.

I use my webcam.

Not with just anyone

and I doubt anyone would recognize my tits or any other part of me without my head attached...lol.

Even though it is not my biggest thrill.... nor something I would do for a HNG. I am rather open about my exhibitionist nature, although I would rather my images not end up where I least expected. It is not something I have worried about because the only people I have done that for had real sex with me and saw everything in 3d. So I guess I trusted them enough to have sex with, they were good enough to turn my cam on for....but this is just me and in no way reflects on other people's choices as being inferior or superior...smiles
