As a young man I had relationships with women across a broad age spectrum and never gave it a second thought. Age was nothing more than a reference point.

However. a few years ago one of my kids was telling me about a friend who was dating a guy my age and how she thought it was "cool".
I said "Really"? "How would you feel if I was dating someone younger than you" I asked.
She was honest and said "Pissed"

I am now dealing with a friend of my youngest who wants a relationship with me and has made it clear it isn't my imagination.
On one hand it's very attractive, on the other to be honest it freaks me out a bit.

For what it's worth - he's almost 20 years younger than I am, in a society that has a love/hate relationship with age (respect the elders, but G*d forbid you actually look like you have aged - GET THEE TO PLASTIC SURGERY!). I don't get off on the age thing from a wiitwd standpoint generally speaking although a whole Dominate The Teacher / Boss / Older Neighbor might be something interesting (I've NEVER EVER thought about that. Oh no!) Let me just say it's never entered into any of my relationships / experiences (yet?). HOWEVER, I do tend to be more attracted to younger men for FUN and men my age for a relationship. I'm not in a relationship now, ergo I'm having fun. I'm dating a younger man, and my trainer is younger. I ENJOY younger men. I like their passion and that they generally don't have the bitterness that I experience in a lot of men my age. They are also more willing to do the non-traditional, quirky things I dig. They are so full of themselves and confident that they don't shoot down my ideas and are generally willing to experiment - I mean in real life not in wiitwd. All of these things are GENERALLY SPEAKING and IN MY EXPERIENCE.

Now mind you... the two younger men in my life would absolutely be acceptable as partners. The one I'm dating - no actual possibility for more than fun because he wants marriage and kids and a Korean woman and welllllllllll I don't fit in that. However he's a good man and a fun guy. I like having a man around. He's world traveled, solid, decent, smart as hell, and he makes me laugh. He is very steady while I'm a bit of a flibberty gibbet (sp). It makes for a good combo.

The trainer... well y'all know about him. I don't even think about his age except when he does things like bosses around older people (in very supportive ways... no, we will wait while you do X.). He's just a man. Yes, he's much younger than I am, but he's not a "younger man" to me so much as he's a MAN who has earned my respect. I'd feel the same about him if he were 50. I do get a kick out of watching the older women here coo over him and his hot body.

Basically for me I don't consider younger men to be squicky or anything like that. They are fair game and to me NO DIFFERENT than older men. Generally they hit my "oo I like this" button more readily than men my age or older. If an older man hits the "oo I like this" button that's just as good.

Status: offline 		I dated a 38 year old once!! I was maybe 46 at the time, so TOTAL Cougar POINTS (tm). While I enjoy the young people, I cannot see them as erotic objects for ME. No one young enough to be my child.

I *have* worked my way down to "men my age". I want to go out and do stuff that I've never done before! Not super likely with my former age group.

I've been scanning these forums for a while, and it's been quite some time since I read as much bullshit as I have in this thread.

OP, in case you haven't yet figured it out, getting opinions from some of the women on this site who are in relationships is utterly worthless. And in a counter-intuitive twist, the longer they've been here, the more posts they have, the less tolerant they are of any opinions but their own. They've seen it all, and have no problem diagnosing what's wrong with you, even if you didn't ask for or want that.
