I have a question to do with the sentence. Alot of people seem to be unhappy that he only got 21 years. I haven't heard from anyone there, but I can understand that your penal system is basically not punitive in nature. How is that civilisation working out forya ? We might try it here someday.

That was NOT snark, although I do think he should be executed. It is not my choice, nor judgement to make. But....

I read somewhere that AFTER the 21 years he will be evaluated and if deemed to be a threat to society will remain incarcerated, and that this could go on forever in five year intervals.

Is that true ? I really don't know who to believe anymore. I mean, what kind of website would I have to browse to find this out ?

And even then...... I don't even know the extension for a Norwegian website lol. We have dot com because the US IS a dot com.

Here now they give what's called stated terms, in my state anyway. You think you're out when you get out but you are on parole for some time after. If you got 21 years for say, drugs, if you get busted again they can give you another 10.5 year plus whatever new sentence. If it happens again, 5.25 years can be added to any new sentence. There is no way to max out on this, you are almost never free. Let's not go into that right now anyway.....

But I find it extremely difficult to believe that after 21 years he just walks out of there and is completely unsupervised in any way, even if he does get out at that time, which is what I am asking. Does the end of 21 years mean what a first parole hearing might mean in the US ?
