Leftists have been blocking new wells and entire new oil, coal, and shale fields for generations

We would have been reaping the many benefits associated with access to cheap abundant energy a long time ago

And access to cheap abundant land, water and air pollution.

Its just that our concern is genuine, hence no need to wear it on our sleeves the way so many on the left do

Even more touching. Excuse me while I fetch a dry hanky.

And then turn their back the moment it becomes inconvenient for the fashionable green cause of the day

I'm always touched by how the use of corn for ethanol draws forth from our right-wing brethren a not previously conspicuous concern for the poor.

Are you for the food stamp program? Medicaid? Section 8 Housing? Americans with Disabilities Act? Housing for the homeless? Social Security for disabled persons no matter their age? School lunches? School breakfasts?

If you can say no to any of those, I'd have to suspect that your "concern" is suspect.

Thats a deceitful straw man argument mark, you should be deeply ashamed of yourself

No one is calling for an end to agricultural aid, but a temporary moratorium on the presidents mandating that food be used for fuel in a time of shortage due to severe drought is a common sense measure that I am sure even Iowans could understand, and get on board with

How is this even a partisan issue

You do understand, dont you, that it s not federally mandated that fuel for vehicles have ethanol in it?
I mean, I bought a tank of 100% gas today. My town only has about 13,000 people and there are 5 stations that sell it.

It's a state thing. If you have such a hardon, write your governor.

Oh Lookeee, He's a Republican. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butch_Otter
