Yachtie -> How sweet it is (8/16/2012 1:45:26 PM)

And on Wednesday, a historical marker went up at the corner of Dorchester Avenue and 53rd Street noting the exact location where the couple had their first smooch.

A quote from President Obama, taken from an interview published in "O, The Oprah Magazine" in February 2007, is inscribed beneath an embedded photo of the couple.

"On our first date, I treated her to the finest ice cream Baskin-Robbins had to offer, our dinner table doubling as the curb. I kissed her, and it tasted like chocolate."

The First Kiss at Baskin-Robbins. How sweet actually. Special enough to warrant a marker.

Dunkin' Brands is currently owned by three private-equity firms, which bought it in 2005 from wine-and-spirits distributor Pernod Ricard. The owners, Bain Capital Partners, Carlyle Group, and Thomas H. Lee Partners, do not plan to sell their stakes, the company said.

Perhaps Barack should thank that evil Bain Capital for coming to its rescue?

"The 3,000-pound granite boulder, commissioned by the owners of Dorchester Commons, was 2 1/2 years in the making, according to Jonelle Kearney, a spokeswoman for Mid-America Asset Management, which manages the shopping center. She said the idea came about after several queries from visitors."

It was a FOR PROFIT move by a private citizen to promote a commercial property once she realized three years ago when passers by brought it to her attention. BFD.
If D&D, the brand that Bain has RUINED, turning it into the highest cost breakfast/coffee solution in the Northeast, a place where you can't get a cup of water, even when you buy something (they now sell water), and because they stopped buying rainpure <tm>water conditioning systems,THEIR COFFEE TASTES LIKE SHIT.... Cause they'd have given it the velvet rope and put in a $1 turnstile.
But thanks for the little ditty that BARELY had anything to do with politics. I think there were still one or two people who might not get you were an Obama hater.

Though the Baskin-Robbins the Obamas visited has been replaced with a Subway sandwich shop, there is a different Baskin-Robbins a few doors down in the same shopping center. Some suggested that the site could become a popular spot for first dates and even marriage proposals.

In a recent interview for Rock Center with Brian Williams, Ann Romney said no more tax returns will be released because "it will only give them more ammunition".

My question is how? What kind of ammunition? If everything is legal and aboveboard in the Romney taxes, how would the Democratic party gain ammunition from the release of returns?

Last night Lawrence O'Donnell invoked the F-word--Felony--as the only viable reason the Romney's would not want their returns made public. If there had been a felony, they most likely took advantage of an amnesty program that allowed them to pay the taxes due, a modest fine and all was forgiven. But, and this is the clincher, if that felony (if it is real and was discovered prior to the Republican convention) would sink Romney's hopes to being nominated. It would end his career in politics forever.

"We're gonna increase military spending EVEN MORE, and we're gonna cut taxes EVEN MORE, and that will MAGICALLY fix the national debt"

DarkSteven -> RE: How sweet it is (8/16/2012 10:19:25 PM)

That's a charming little bit of irony.

Note that Obama worked at B-R while a teenager. That contradicts Boehner, who said that Obama never held a 'real job".

That means they would have to nominate Ron Paul.
