First...I"m backkk...yes i've been away for a few days and i KNOW you all missed me lol yeah ok anywayy...Reading a lot of things on the boards i notice a lot of those who say "I pick up a book about this lifestyle whenever and wherever i can" Well my question is, and to some it will sound droll and mundane, but where do you find the books? In the library? Local bookstore? In what section would i look? I love to read, and if i can find them at the library...I'm there tomorrow!! lol Any help would be appreciated and i thank you in advance.

As someone you has never met a library book or video that I can return on time, I am a big fan of bookstores. My local Barnes and Nobles and Borders carries several titles. You can buy almost anything from Amazon - including information for what to order from the bookstore.

Happy reading -

Hmm I dunno. I just read what i see other people have. There is a great series by Ann Rice. Prolly in the section where Ann Rice is in the library. I saw other more non fictional books at the local adult store.

A more droll question..

What are the names of good books and videos (not porn ones.. thats easy) That portray the lifestyle well?

"The Story of O" is an interesting read (available at Barnes & Noble) and "Screw the Roses, Send me the Thorns" was one that i enjoyed & was highly recommended (i had to order this one from Barnes & Noble as they will ship it UPS BUT most of their stores do not keep it in stock/on the shelf).

i forgot to mention: In most cases, BDSM titles are found in the 'self help/self improvement' sections.

Generally known bdsm books can be ordered through Barnes and Noble. Screw the roses, the loving dominant, etc.. But for the best how to books try

The Sleeping Beauty series is a lot of fun to read and is readily available in many book stores.

Greetings,

i've not read this series but have heard of it and know that it's used as a basis for formal training at Shadowfind.

The Marketplace series by Laura Antoniou

Iron Rose Publishing

Plus, here's a website with quite a few good links on it - one whole section is devoted to BDSM writers while another section is devoted to Spiritual Authors with a strong foothold in the Lifestyle.

I get most of my stuff from amazon. Someone mentioned Screw the Roses send the Thorns. That's a good one. (It's tricky to find the right section at amazon, I believe it's under health or some such.) SM 101 is a really good one. It's by Jay Wiseman. (BUY IT) I love Jay Wiseman. He also has a bondage book that's good. Consensual Sadomasochim is not bad, it has a lot of saftey tips. The Masters manual and Slave craft are both okay. Geared more for male/male but the info works about the same. I did not like Different Loving. So if you see it I wouldn't buy it. It's Boring and reads like stero instructions.
Can you tell yet that Master and I are geeks? The Beauty series is okay, if sometimes overwelming. It is usually in Drama, sometimes it's in fiction with Anne Rice, but not always. She also has Exit to Eden. (Don't worry it's not like the movie) The end isn't that great but other than that it's interesting.
Some of these you can find in the book store, usually under the self help area. Usually I just use Amazon. You can get them cheaper.

I have read both the "Sleeping Beauty" series and "The MarketPlace" series. "The Marketplace" series being my favorite. These books are more for enjoyment then anything else. So if your looking for a book to curl up and just in enjoy these are great. [:)]

If you are looking more for fiction I would suggest the other books that were listed here. Which isn't the total of what is available to you.

Barnes & Noble is a great place to look online. You can call your local store to find out if they actually have the book you are looking for, and if not they'll order it for you.

Take care,
