Owner59 -> Romney wants his risky pick to play it safe (8/18/2012 6:56:53 AM)

Well................that`s our vanilla Mitt for ya....

No balls........at all.

So much for a real debate.

Guess they figure whining and begging the president not to talk about Mitt`s record is their best chance of persuading folks to vote for Mitt.....

"Mitt Romney wants running mate Paul Ryan to play it safe.

Ryan, the nation's most controversial budget architect, is often described as the intellectual leader of the House Republican caucus. But Romney's presidential campaign headquarters in Boston seems, for now, to prefer that the 42-year-old father of three talks about camping and milking cows instead of the fiscal proposals that made him a conservative hero.

DarkSteven -> RE: Romney wants his risky pick to play it safe (8/18/2012 7:05:32 AM)

The whole campaign is clueless. When Romney picked Ryan, he essentially bought into Ryan's economic plan 100%. He has no choice but to have Ryan defend it against Obama's attacks on it. For him to tell Ryan to tell stories about milking cows is insane.

This is looking like the old Ross Perot control freak you don't need to know or speak playbook.  Das kleine Fueher.

So... just to make sure I understand

The far lefts preferred narrative is that the economy isnt at issue, everythings fine there. The real issue is that Romney the big mean bully is a wimp who dares to take some pretty extreme risks

Nope, you don't understand, but that was a given at the outset.

Has Obama or Biden agreed to have a debate with Paul Ryan on medicare yet ? We'll see who the wimps are.

mnottertail -> RE: Romney wants his risky pick to play it safe (8/18/2012 8:45:34 AM)

lol, they are debating it even now, and sure, they will agree when its time.

they sort of have to wait for there to be an actual republican candidate for p and vp first though.

servantforuse -> RE: Romney wants his risky pick to play it safe (8/18/2012 9:23:52 AM)

I'd like to see a debate on medicare, and nothing else but medicare.

mnottertail -> RE: Romney wants his risky pick to play it safe (8/18/2012 9:35:42 AM)

I don't think that's gonna be in the cards.

servantforuse -> RE: Romney wants his risky pick to play it safe (8/18/2012 9:54:00 AM)

You are right and the reason is, Obama or Biden will refuse to debate Ryan on this issue. They are the ones wimping out. What are they afraid of ? The facts maybe ?

mnottertail -> RE: Romney wants his risky pick to play it safe (8/18/2012 9:58:23 AM)

they will refuse?  you might want to start drinking.  they are in the middle of those debates even now listen to the news, read the news, see the news.

They will not be debating face to face, no president has or would ever debate with a nobody.

Once they are the party candidates, then it changes.

The reason there will be no debate about medicare only is the issues are larger than that, and so many, that several subects will be covered at each debate.

Not that the vast majority will have the attention span to actuall follow and analyze that.

But you are right, I think that Ron Paul going after Romney for raisisng foreign money will probably end all the debates.

Don't you just love the way you loony tunes take any headline and automatically assume it's true.  Ryan is not a risky pick. In fact, the yahoo polls indicated about 47% thought Ryan would improve Romney's chances as opposed to about 24% who didn't. The rest said they didn't know enough about Ryan to make a decision yet.

A risky pisk is picking someone like Biden who is known to stick his foot in his mouth every other day.  In fact, the only theory anyone can come up with why Obama picked Biden is that it makes Obama look smarter by comparison.

mnottertail -> RE: Romney wants his risky pick to play it safe (8/18/2012 10:09:12 AM)

Yeah, risky.  Thats why hes vice president and sara aint.

the loony tunes take any headline and automatically assume it's true and post it here as factual all the time from sites like WND, Breitbart, FreeBeacon, Boortz, Faux, Limbaugh, rightwing drooler blogs and the like, simply review the last 3 pages of this forum.

Awww.  Are those dastardly Republicans countering the DNC strategy of locking Ryan into a caricature?  How dare they present him as a person, rather than a cartoon!

A few Bidenisms

In 2007 he said that then-Sen. Barack Obama was the “first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”

“You don’t know my state (Delaware). My state was a slave state … my state is the 8th largest black population in the country,” he said.

The nation’s first black governor, Virginia’s Douglas Wilder, recently blasted Biden for engaging in racially charged rhetoric. The Daily Mail reports:

‘Slavery is nothing to joke about. And the history of this nation’s involvement with slavery is nothing to pass off in a joke.’

Suggesting that Biden was a liability to Obama, he added that ‘you can’t continue to make gaffe after gaffe after gaffe and believe that it’s going to be supportive of what you and the president are both trying to do’.

In 2006, he told an Indian-American supporter that “you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.”

servantforuse is referring to the presidential debates

They happen every four years, between vice presidential candidates and presidential candidates

You can learn something about them here
