MySweetSubmssive -> A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 9:25:29 PM)

This thread is just to blow off steam on something that I became aware of a few minutes ago.

I have a fairly nice profile.  It's long, but it's luxurious, something that I've put a lot of time into, and am justly pleased with.  I'm seduced by words and think I do the same with my narrative.  The latest message in my mailbox was from a submissive who let me know that someone else has taken my text and inserted it wholesale into her own profile.  Now, I suppose it's *coughing* flattering that someone would like my profile so much that she would want it for herself, but I'm head-twisting angry that she stole it and passed it off as her own.

Frankly, I'd love to shout her handle from the rooftops, as mudslinging as that is, but there's really no way to prove that I wrote the text first.

Thanks for reading.

GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

marieToo -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 9:32:14 PM)

That is just SO wrong.  I would email her and try the nice approach first.  Tell her (without cutting loose on her) that you dont appreciate it and tell her that you would expect her to take it down.  I bet it works.

marieToo -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 9:38:36 PM)

and fuck it....tell her its copyrighted and you could sue. Hey who knows,  she just may fall for it.  Id do something like this...

Hi
I suppose I should be flattered that you liked my writings enough to take them as your own. But that is a highly unethical thing to do.  Furthermore, I am a writer and have copyrights on all of my work.  I strongly suggest you take it down immediately.   Thank you.

MySweetSubmssive -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 9:50:07 PM)

OK ... I know I'm doing the tedious thing talking about someone ...

I just got a message from this woman suggesting that I had taken her text ... completely denying any wrong doing.  How pathetic and gutless ...

Aileen68 -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 10:08:09 PM)

Someone did this to me also.  Contact support on the other side and tell them.  With me, they removed her words.  She then did it again within a few days and when I contacted them again they deleted her account.

MySweetSubmssive -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 10:27:04 PM)

Thank you, Aileen, for the idea.  I've already set things in motion with support.  What did you have to give them as proof that the text was yours?  Luckily, her profile was set up in the last 48 hours, and mine's been up for over four months, so that should help.

BlkTallFullfig -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 10:28:07 PM)

That's not a new low here, it's been done many times before.
Sorry it happened to you, but try reporting it to tech support and see if they can track and correct the situation.   M

Aileen68 -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 10:30:11 PM)

I just told them that I was contacted by a bunch of people letting me know that she copied my words (that's actually how I found out) and they took it from there.  I guess they have ways of telling how long your profile has been like that.  If I needed proof I wouldn't have been able to give any.

Musicmystery -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 10:32:30 PM)

Certainly they can tell when what was posted. Report such nonsense.

ElectraGlide -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/10/2006 11:21:22 PM)

I have seen profiles on here where the person said they liked another profile so much that they were using it in theirs as a supplement to their own words. They did not give them credit for using their words. Whether they asked for permission from them to use their words I do not know.

MySweetSubmissive,

Let me add my voice to the rest here. The theft of ones words is not a compliment. It's a theft defined as plagiarism. I would feel no differently if someone came to my house and stole a Persian rug because they like my taste. That's not a compliment to my taste.. it is the theft of that which belongs to me.

I hope you can regain the sole ownership of your unique thoughts and ideas and that the thief is punished for their action.

Celeste

Edited to add:: btw - you have a wonderful profile. Take heart. Himself had his entire figging article plagiarized here and Collarme was swift with the action against that thief. :)

I've had this happen to me as well, and it was a complete copy and paste job. I reported it to CM, and they wrote back telling me that they would look into the matter. Shortly thereafter, the problem was resolved.

Though CM never sent me an explanation of how they arrived at their decision, I must assume that they are able to determine the date of profile essay postings. How else would they have known who copied who in my case?

LaTigresse -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/11/2006 4:01:26 AM)

Sorry to hear you have suffered that insult. Had it happen to me once that I know of and probably more that I don't. They stole all the information, words and photos to put on another site. I found out totally by accident thru a friend that saw it and emailed me thru my private email acct wanting to know when I became 10 years younger. After working thru the "huh?" and "OMG's" what it boiled down to was that it was a paying site they had joined and the tech people had the other person's money coming in to support the fraudulent account. My problem meant nothing to them. Hopefully collarme, being a nonpay site, and having both profiles here will be more helpful.

ShiftedJewel -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/11/2006 5:12:12 AM)

Luckily no one wants my profile... lmao

Celeste, would it be possible to see your Sirs article? I have an article on figging in one of my communities with no attribution to the author... since I don't know who it is... I would like to see if it's the same one and would like to give credit where credit is due. Email me on the other side if it is at all possible?

Jewel

lisa1978 -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/11/2006 10:00:42 AM)

That happen to me but it was a dominant who took my profile and just changed it to there point of view. He had the nerve to ask me what I thought about it and when I wrote back to him saying I was quite upset, his profile was soon deleted before I could even report him. Pretty sure he just made a new one up but I cannot find it.

So... if you taste good, you wouldn't mind if they took the rug? Do you taste good? Does the Persian rug taste good?

Forgive me... I am in an odd mood today and I should be locked away in a padded cell.

Well, now you're going to think I'm fickle, but yes.. I still would be mad. ::laughs::

Do you taste good?

::winks:: I'm sorry, but you don't have the necessary security clearance for that information.

Only if you have ketchup!

Hmmm.. I don't have a padded cell. Will a straight jacket suffice? ;)

Moloch -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/12/2006 7:12:22 AM)

Persian Rug padded cell ketchup and a straight jacket? Are we doing a comedy skit?

mnottertail -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/12/2006 7:30:15 AM)

Regardless of any opinion to the contrary, there will never be a new low on collarme.  Daily innundations of depravity on these forums put the lie to that idea.

If there is not a new low, you can all be assured I will see to the creation of same.

Arpig -> RE: A new low in CM behavior (6/12/2006 7:31:56 AM)

Not a new low, and not really worth complaining about either..its a personals ad, not a bloody novella. Tell support, they can fix it if it really seems worth the effort to you?
