Cuz I know you will all be proud of me! We went to the Bizarre Bazaar in Birmingham today - it's sort of a monthly fetish market with a demo and a play party afterwards (we didn't stay to party). I figured it would be a good taste for us since the shopping focuses the day round an activity and takes away some of the pressure to make friends or play. Also there's no dress code, so again, low pressure. My poor Husband is very shy in big social situations so it was a big thing that he braved this for me. It was craaaazy busy. It was pretty good fun to see people rocking their fetish gear of all different types (I think I was a bit rude staring around, but it was only out of fascination, not judgment). The demo was erotic impact play. My husband sat through the majority of it with a mostly expressionless face, until the guy pulled out a carriage whip and my husband's face lit up. We're getting one of those apparently [sm=hewah.gif] The only thing in the demo which actually looked vicious. Anyway, just sharing because I am proud of myself for being brave!

We went by train and my parents gave us a lift home from the station, so we didn't wanna buy anything that didn't fit into my handbag! But there are a few things that we will be ordering from those vendors now that we've seen them in person. The aforementioned carriage whip, plus an anal hook (!) and some beautiful steel cuffs (which will have to wait til birthdays because they aint cheap). If you knew what a wimp I am, you'd know those are big things for us.

chuckles And here I was gonna say that you beat me to it. I'm still buried under this fundraiser so the plans to head downtown for a night were on hold. But then I realized that reasonably, Folsom Street Fair probably counts as a "kink event" laughs. Now I'm amused that I glossed over a few trips to there.

Athena, before you buy or order anything, check equestrian stores nearby, often the same items for cheaper, very very often better quality for less price!

I got bored with folsom fair personally. We used to go every year. We'd also do folsome fringe kinky convention, which we also bored with.
