I dont immagine that as well as the regular blocking key to just block all posts by a person, there is a way to block all threads started by some one so you don't even have to see the annoying person's name appear at all is there? I only have one person on permanant block but it is still irritating to see her name appearing at all .....

I wish it could work the same way that many newsreaders handle blocking with Usenet newsgroups. Block a notestream or a person and those messages vanish rather than being replaced with a "this is blocked" notice

Just keep this in mind IronBear: it doesn't bother her one bit when you allow yourself to get upset when you see her name. Mr. Pete

I hope its not me... me either, because i do love reading iron bear's posts. i am fairly sure something like that doesn't exist, because i've never seen it on any other message board system and it sounds like it would be difficult to configure, but it -might- be possible. what pete said, as well...also, it seems like a strange idea to block whole threads, because you'd miss potentially good replies, at least. but i can understand the want. maybe there's a mod around who could clue us in about thread blocking.

If you discover a way to do it...let me know. I never blocked before but as of late, the sight of her very name is like fingernails on a blackboard....and the frequency of her posts make it almost impossible to avoid a head on collision.

Stone the bloody crows it would be funny if we were all talking about the same person.. Still this is neither the time nor place to name names... 99% of the time I can look at posts and either read them or by pass they (Mostly the latter and none oif the posters to this thread are blocked ~ How could I block such delightfull and delectable ladies?) It's justrecently one name has become something like a blow fly to me and even though I have tried to spray the consol with flyspray to won't go away.. Ahhh well it probably need something like this to prove that CM Forums aren't Heaven after all ...... [sm=boohoo.gif][sm=book.gif][sm=biggrin.gif]

Well, I'm not a 'her'...so it cannot be me; but how cool would that be, to be blocked? Block me...I do think that Riot's idea of blocking oneself is amusing...might have to try that...or maybe just block certain days. Blocking people in R/L? Hmmm...now we're talking. C

I love the idea of blocking yourself! I recently requested to be blocked by another user but I guess I'll never know if it worked or not. Still fun though.

I'm the only one here who's really dying of curiosity right now, aren't I? I wish the name were here, I'm always a fan of a 'head's up" kind of thing. So far, I've managed to suss out a few of the worst offenders on the site just by perusing the posts of others...it's saved me time finding out in a more irritating way where I'm personally pissed off by them. There should be a "WARNING" board on the site...yeah, I know, it'd never work logistcally (logisticly? [&:]) but hope is a precious, precious thing indeed. Best wishes Iron, hope the person either miraculously disappears from site (get it? sight...site, Hahaaa [8\|]) or the powers that be see this and grant your wish for sanctuary [:)]
