Hmmmm. In the future try the report feature to let us know, we do not always read topics and cannot read every post. That will assist us greatly and help keep things consistent.

And in fairness to the mods-I've had a post or two pulled as of late, which is a post or two more than I usually get yanked. However, each time the mods sent a letter and explained why, so I can't really beef.

Now, in the past I've had stuff yanked that I genuinely didn't understand to be offensive and I've argued it (And lost. Arguing with Mods is like arguing with your boss, even when ya win ya lose :-O) but in the end it doesn't matter. This ain't my house. I don't get to make the rules.
What is on me is to be a good guest, show some respect and politeness, follow the house dictates.
And if I don't like the rules, I can do like so many other long term posters here and switch to the dark side, even if I do hate the way their forums are set up

I got caught up in that a few months back.Many many posts just...pffffftttttt....gone. No note. No comment. I said something about it on a forum, haven't had one yanked w/o a message since.
So I can't complain that the powers that be don't listen...:-)

I spent quite a bit of time going through the sticky notes at the top of the forums and could not see any reference at all to staying "on topic". I found reference to hijacking threads and I have never attempted that.

I will state that I appreciate the work you guys do on the forums and I don't even want to imagine the work the moderators do on the "other side"... but I find this to be more heavy handed than "moderating". The thread stayed on topic even with the three posts pulled, no hijacking, no attacks, no flames... though it is okay, since you have made the point that "On Topic" is the only acceptable form of communication, I will not post in either section besides "Casual Banter".

Accepted, their forums, their rules... I suppose my issue is that some of the rules are more situational and assumed with no way of knowing what they are... again, their forums, their rules. So, in choosing to stay, I choose to only post in the "Casual Banter" section. Since I was the OP on this thread and there is no stated subject in this thread I can't fucking be off topic now, can I?

Yes, the 11 posts you've had removed since 8/22 were for quoting or replying to posts that required removal.

Request to everyone - if you suspect a post is going to be pulled, please do not reply to it. Please create a ticket for posts that violate the TOS/section guidelines.

If we "suspect" a post is going to be pulled? And how would we know that, honestly? I am not a person to leap into every trainwreck, nor am I able to psychically intuit what is going to be interpreted as "thread drift". I freely admit that I am a hijacker, if the conversation seems to be going in a direction, I will follow along. It's what conversations do.

But it's all good. Sticking to my knitting in the basement.

Indeed. Mods are human. What one sees and perfectly acceptable AND may even be contributing to.........another will see as yankable. Anymore, I don't even realize if one of my posts has gone MIA. I read something, it inspires me to write something, it's no longer important. Usually. Occasionally there is a thread that triggers enough give a damn that I would be bummed if it *poofed*. Otherwise, it's forgotten.

Some see the Mods as a monolithic entity.

Each one is an individual with different tastes and interpretations. Sometimes a post will be approved by the first 3 who see it and the fourth one in will yank it. It's part of life that everyone is an individual.

I don't know if it's humanly possible to do that, Chi. You expect people *not* to say something humorous when Mr Teamviewer tries to pull the story that he leaves 'his' computer on so the *mistress* he never tributes invites everyone to humiliate him?

I'm not sure I have that kind of strength. Frankly, I'm not sure I want it, either.

It's only recently that I started getting these blank emails that let me know something was happening.

I wasn't kidding when I said that I don't have any investment in what I post here. It's the interwebs, not the New York Times. I'm here to entertain myself and keep in touch with my pals.

This latest bit of randomness... annoys me. It diminishes my entertainment, shall we say. So, I will stay in the basement. A personal challenge.
