ORIGINAL: CRYPTICLXVI Very cool, I am impressed. Okay, did the punk, hardcore, alternative metal trip in my twenties, as well as attended the symphony constantly for years... and seeing music ranging from the tuvan throat singing and baroque chamber music to slamming in underground clubs when I was in my twenties. Music has been a love, an addiction, for decades now. No musical talent but a love of it... but to have played in a symphony, wow. I listen to everything and anything and have a music collection that is closing in on 1TB on my computer... I'd say 1TB is pretty serious [;)] I listen to anything, it's all good, every little genre has something that hooks me in (except country, I cannot stand country). I get a lot of quizzical looks from my kids, I don't care, they're convinced there's something wrong with me anyway but still love me, lol. The symphony was really an experience. The formal black gown and guys in tuxes....yeah, a good time and perhaps the most nervous I've ever been watching the audience file in to sit down at each concert. Not a major symphony, a mid-size city but a very good as we had a rich environment at the University to draw from for performers. I had a solo when Eugene Fodor played with us in the 70's, I almost died of fright that night, but it ended up fine.
