LadyPact -> RE: TRAIN WRECK!!! (9/20/2012 4:19:14 PM)

Somehow, I can be away from this screen for hours, come back to this page, and find the twatwaffle of the day.

I'm just lucky, I guess.

I haven't heard this in over twenty years... when this came out, it was a good time, I had not crashed and burned yet and I sure as hell hadn't gone through the last 18 years of fucked up relationships.

An Old Train Wreck...

Ha! Saw PIL a good while ago when I lived in SF. Great show. This song amongst other PIL numbers are on my playlist. I also liked your Diamanda link.

Yeah, my high opinion of you has just gone up farther... I knew there had to be a female somewhere who would like Diamanda Galas.

Lol, I'm a former punk. I like weird, out of the way stuff. Add onto that layer that I also played professionally in a symphony orchestra at 17. I'm open to many many things musically. The world is an interesting place, I don't limit myself much.

Very cool, I am impressed. Okay, did the punk, hardcore, alternative metal trip in my twenties, as well as attended the symphony constantly for years... and seeing music ranging from the tuvan throat singing and baroque chamber music to slamming in underground clubs when I was in my twenties. Music has been a love, an addiction, for decades now. No musical talent but a love of it... but to have played in a symphony, wow.

I listen to everything and anything and have a music collection that is closing in on 1TB on my computer...

JstAnotherSub -> RE: TRAIN WRECK!!! (9/20/2012 4:42:43 PM)

Fuck me runnin, I guess I can't call you an asshole any more asshole. Got a post pulled for it.

Asshole.

I'd say 1TB is pretty serious [;)]
I listen to anything, it's all good, every little genre has something that hooks me in (except country, I cannot stand country). I get a lot of quizzical looks from my kids, I don't care, they're convinced there's something wrong with me anyway but still love me, lol.

The symphony was really an experience. The formal black gown and guys in tuxes....yeah, a good time and perhaps the most nervous I've ever been watching the audience file in to sit down at each concert. Not a major symphony, a mid-size city but a very good as we had a rich environment at the University to draw from for performers. I had a solo when Eugene Fodor played with us in the 70's, I almost died of fright that night, but it ended up fine.

JstAnotherSub -> RE: TRAIN WRECK!!! (9/20/2012 4:58:56 PM)

Fuck it. I am really a rule follower deep down, and I have censored my self trying to stay out of trouble.

I am tired of trying. Let the dickwads who love to report things have the place. Not my house, not my rules.

Maybe when they come up with a font that shows intent and humor, I shall try again.

Til then, fuck it.

CRYPTICLXVI -> RE: TRAIN WRECK!!! (9/20/2012 5:02:28 PM)

Country song for you... I love these guys!
Well... and Johnny Cash.

I understand about your kids, hell, my musical taste is more extreme than either of my kids. I will never forget when my daughter was 13 and decided she would explain to me what punk and then gothic was, I started laughing at her so hard she blushed. When we got home, I started playing music for her...

LadyPact -> RE: TRAIN WRECK!!! (9/20/2012 5:04:02 PM)

I wonder if it would be ok if his screen name was TheAssofHole?

Don't anybody have a shit fit. If you don't understand My sense of humor after all of this time, I'd have to wonder about the reader.

Nope then she would be shortening it... but in the "Complaint" thread I pondered closing my profile and starting a profile under the name "Asshole". Wonder if it's taken yet???

You silly, the lyrics are country but not the rest.

I have to say, my youngest especially has turned out to be quite eclectic in his taste and he's the only musician out of the 3. It was fun when the younger two were about the age of your daughter and I became the cool mom as their friends wanted to know about the punk shows I'd been to. They've introduced me to some gems too which is always nice.

Oh, I love Johnny Cash too. He's the exception to country.

LadyPact -> RE: TRAIN WRECK!!! (9/20/2012 5:13:41 PM)

Two or three years ago, a bunch of the regular (at the time) forum posters here got together for a weekend house party. We had a complete blast. Since some of us had traveled a bit to get there, we were disbanding during the day Sunday.

With this decided amongst us, one of the participants volunteered to make eggs for breakfast. It turned out, I think he was off having fun with his girl until the wee hours, and we did brunch without him.

Long story short, the rest of us were laughing about this before taking off and we all agreed that we would do our Positive Experience thread and call out M for not getting his lazy butt out of bed to make eggs. So, every post we put up mentioned the fun we shared, talked about laughs, and the fact that "M is an asshole".

Yeah, it didn't last too terribly long. [;)]

CRYPTICLXVI -> RE: TRAIN WRECK!!! (9/20/2012 5:16:15 PM)

Another Country Song... because I care.

lizi -> RE: TRAIN WRECK!!! (9/20/2012 5:36:05 PM)

Ok, I liked that. I'll raise you some BRMC.
And This. Love these guys- one more. I really like the heavy grinding guitar that they use and some of their more gospel type songs are amazing.

Now, I'm out. Cardiopulmonary test tomorrow to study for and I keep putting it off, sigh.
