hahha good luck staff in my group home stood by and let a girl go get steel toed boots on which by the way they knew she had and didn't confinscate, they were contrabrand in our house, come to my room and kick me before they  took any action to stop her. By then big fucking whoo I'd already just had my thumb jammed by Erin. We actually had night staff who made it clear they wouldn't help if a girl was being beaten up she'd lock herself in the office and call  someone to come deal with it, she wasn't about to be hurt on our behalf helping break up a fight, so consequently when any one was planning a beat down it happend on her watch.

Group homes in PA, excercise is a right, not a privelidge. Pretty much anything that the average person can acess- so to, in group homes. [generally speaking]

However if someone is harming themself- staff must interevene.

We have after school programs in Sacramento. Most children don't want to go. And in Sacramento PE was mandatory but it was a joke their idea of PE was to play volly ball. And they couldn't force you to play. I quite frequently goofed off during PE, or chose to walk the track slow as a fucking snail 16 times till class was over, while others played vollyball.

It’s all propaganda; we’re being squeezed and taxed to death and don’t need any more new taxes. If they need revenue to fund some nutty program, eliminate some redundant federal agency, cut spending and have mandatory pay cuts for all bureaucrats. No more new taxes for the American people. - Period.

One last thing.....Stop trying to protect people from themselves.

I agree with this.
I don't really care if soda is taxed, as I drink soda maybe 4times/year, but perhaps if teachers, parents, and the systems (government/schools) were doing their jobs, the kids wouldn't need to be locked in the house with the tv and the chips.
We ought to have mandatory Physical Education Classes in EVERY SCHOOL (perhaps extended at the end of the school day); have subsidized daycare so that women don't have to choose poverty with having children vs being happy fullfilled members of society no matter their choice (this because of latch key kids, and kids being raised by other children who don't know better); we ought to also have afterschool physical/sports so that children can have safe places to go and be active.   M

I have a better idea... how about they target parents of obese little ones? Most learn their eating habits at a very young age and as far as I am concerned those that allow their children to become obese (and yes, I understand there are medical causes out there too, that's not what I am talking about here) are commiting child abuse. Just look at what the kids go through around other kids, particularly at school. They are harrassed, made fun of and left out of so much. Not to mention the health problems they suffer later on. I know that most would say that we should teach the rest of the little ones more tolerance... bull shit.. we should teach our kids healthier eating habits.

Sorry to rant and preach here... you just happen to hit on one of my passions.

Well Jewel, my kid has been on soda at school and there is not much I could do about that. He has a weight problem and is under the care of a doctor for it. I do not buy junk or keep it in my house to the point of buying single serving goodies for myself. People judge parents, but let the food industry off the hook for the shit they put in the food. I had to educate myself on this because my son gained weight and we do not have a twinkie in the house.

I am not saying this tax is good, but the fact they have this shit food on our children's schools should tick off all parents... for some reason it doesn't. Our kids are spun on sugar all day long like little yoyos and then the medical community puts them on more drugs because of ADD, it is MADNESS.

At one point I had my little soda addiction going, but I do not drink it and havent done so in two years... there is some kinda addicting bullshit in these drinks I do not want in my body. I quit smoking over a year ago, and I have more Pepsi cravings than nicotine cravings... that tells me volumes right there.
