ORIGINAL: tazzygirl The president, for instance, made a similar endeavor onto this turf when he joked about Romney putting a his dog on the roof of his car in the 1980s. "During a speech a few months ago, Gov. Romney even described his energy policy this way, I’m quoting here, ‘You can’t drive a car with a windmill on it,'" Obama said earlier this month in Iowa during a trip to promote wind energy. "Now I don’t know if he’s actually tried that — I know he’s had other things on his car," Obama added in a joke he'd end up repeating several times that day. Nasty on both sides.... There is a key difference: When it comes from President Obama, its unexpected given his normal demeaner. When it comes from Mitt Romney, its the norm. At one time, the fringe in the Republican Party could be shut out, denied a voice or face. In 'Today's GOP', the fringe are the norm and mainstream, while sane and/or moderate Republicans are shut out entirely. There are many examples of this in recent months. The most recent by some Texas judge stating that if President Obama is duly elected by the majority of states there will be a civil war. Years ago, this person would have beeen carted off to the funny farm for 'an extended stay' and never heard from again. Today, this piece is the stuff the GOP wants to hear. Just utterly crazy stuff....
