I just ovulated . . . 12-16 more days until it's Hot Carpenter time again! Woot!

Who knew there were so many artisanal pad-makers?! Not I.

It's not really a lot different than inserting/removing a tampon once you get the hang of it.

There is more handwashing required with a moon/diva menstrual cup, but fold, insert, twist is very easy.

When I use tampons, I use OBs, which have periodic shortages. I love not having to worry about running out, packing a bunch of tampons, looking for sales, spending money each month, or disposal when not able to flush because of a septic system. This last was the deciding factor for me - when I moved from my apartment to a house and my housemate said I couldn't flush tampons. I'd had a natural latex cup, which irritated me after I developed chemical sensitivity, so got the silicone one.

The most popular menstrual cup made in the USA, the medical-grade silicone Moon Cup is the perfect choice for eco-minded women with active lifestyles.

I've tried two different cups; one 'sproinged' back during removal that gave me an injury reminiscent of having my hymen re-popped except from the inside out, and this type spilt during removal causing a swanky marble gallery bathroom, sink and my lingerie to look like a Dexter/CSI scene.
