When I use tampons, I use OBs, which have periodic shortages. I love not having to worry about running out, packing a bunch of tampons, looking for sales, spending money each month, or disposal when not able to flush because of a septic system. This last was the deciding factor for me - when I moved from my apartment to a house and my housemate said I couldn't flush tampons. I'd had a natural latex cup, which irritated me after I developed chemical sensitivity, so got the silicone one.
