DarkSteven -> Ron Paul's not going to speak. (8/26/2012 4:42:14 PM)

He was given a speaking opportunity at the RNC, but declined because he didn't agree with the speech he was handed.

He's also refused to endorse Romney.

The Paul delegation is negotiating right now to get seated (beats me why, since they got elected). The RNC may be throwing out Paul's support in return for a united convention. I'm not sure of the impact of Paul's non-endorsement.

Extra innings, Stephen. The election is going into extra innings!

How many times did I say this would be the deal? Or that he'd get his 10 minutes of Ron Paul Evolution BULLSHIT at 10 am or some shit like that.

I hope all the motherfuckers who tainted the "live free or die" and "Don't Tread On Me" slogans with his phony bullshit are happy to know THEY'VE BENN HAD... And the GOP will wack their sorry asses to the pavement with NDAA when the show up OUTSIDE to protest... If they actually have any balls that is.

Winterapple -> RE: Ron Paul's not going to speak. (8/26/2012 9:18:38 PM)

I think his refusing to endorse Romney is a
pretty big deal. I think it will absolutely keep
many of his supporters from voting for
Romney but could have an influence
on some independent voters as well.

Shutting Paul and his supporters out
seems like a very foolish idea. They'll
be all over the media in a way they
wouldn't be under the thumb of the
party if give their due at the convention.

Winterapple -> RE: Ron Paul's not going to speak. (8/26/2012 9:23:10 PM)

And shutting Paul out just makes him seem
more like a third party candidate who many
will see as a legitiment alternative to
Romney. Obama to but Paul is a greater
vote drain for Romney. I think his
supporters overwhelmingly will write
him in on election day.
Maybe Mitt should have given more
thought to Rand Paul as veep.

TheHeretic -> RE: Ron Paul's not going to speak. (8/26/2012 10:04:12 PM)

Steve, if it comes down to the simple math of Ron Paul supporters who won't vote for Romney, vs the number of independents/moderates/swing voters who would be completely turned off if the party caters to Paul, then he needs to be on the bus, or off the bus.

I can respect that he has chosen not to play, but any respect I may have for him is sternly tempered by the freaks and douchebags I see carrying his signs.  Hint to any supporters for next time around - if you are going to pass out flyers at the mall, shower and brush your teeth first, and if you have a Ron Paul sign in your yard, mow the damn lawn once in a while.

Funny you should mention that NAViking... Rumor has it... THAT is Romney's Precise Goal at this point. After realizing the election is pretty much a lost cause, he's decided to recreate one of the most talked about moments in Baseball

FR

How the fuck stoopid are you sheeple ?

Here is the deal. Ron Paul and Gary Johnson are not winning. It will be either Romney or Obama.

Now it is very important how you vote because if Romney wins, the US will start WW3 because when we attack Iran, Russia is going to declare war on us. HOWEVER, if Obama is reelected, we will start WW3 in May by attacking Iran, and Russia will declare war on us. And AIPAC and Israel will sit there and say "Ho hum". YOUR FUCKING KIDS ARE GETTING KILLED NOT MINE.

Tweedle dee or tweedle dum, take your pick. Personally, go ahead and do it, I am preparing for it. I'll be making guns and all that on my lathe and shit. I will make a fortune. But then I have always prospered during the bad times. Good times fuck me up.

And everypne in the US can go fuck themselves except for my friends. You people are fucking garbage. You shit on your own kids, and your Parents. You have the idea that WE are not WE, that WE are I. You fucking know it, don't try to wiggle out of it you fucking worms.

NONE OF YOU CARE ABOUT THIS COUNTRY PAST YOUR PROPERTY LINE AND YOUR ROUTE TO WORK.

Many of you would allow them to chip your kids, or circumcise them. They didn't fucking consent to that . Where the fuck is SSC there ?

You wonder why I don't post here much, I think there is no use. It takes a fucking brain to understand it. It takes a soul to say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH" and it takes BALLS to go out there and say "FUCK YOU, KILL ME BECAUSE I WILL NOT LIVE LIKE THIS ANYMORE".

Don't wonder why. As soon as I got the fucking money I am leaving this cesspool for a country that has PEOPLE in it instead of ANIMALS.

And don't think I am back, I am just here to kick a little reality into your fucking whacked out minds (if we can call them that) before I die.

Back to your videogames.

SEEYA.

Is it too late for Paul to get on the ballots?

Termyn8or -> RE: Ron Paul's not going to speak. (8/27/2012 2:53:38 AM)

Not that it's too late, not enough people could ever vote for him, even without the election fraud.

Ron Paul was supposed to be nice and behave now so as to pave the way for Rand Paul in 2016 or 2020. He did a bunch of make nice stuff back in the spring but his supporters kept on with their insurgent delegate strategy. I guess he decided he owed his supporters to at least somewhat represent them at the RNC.

The question comes down to does the Paul crowd have any good lawyers who can get a TRO issued before the RNC convenes this morning.

Termyn8or -> RE: Ron Paul's not going to speak. (8/27/2012 3:17:51 AM)

First of all Ken, Rand is not Ron. I think Rand is not as out of it (what we need) as his Dad. For one I don't like his hairdo.

The hairdo doesn't say much about a Man, but the fact that he fucking has one does. And he has one, a very expensive one. The way I figure it is he is from good stock and is better for us than any of the usuals, but Ron would be better.

You know that electing either would shut this country halfway down. It is needed but it is not going ot be fun, and it is not going to be over in a couple of months either. But it is not going to happen because it just isn't.

We will have the status quo until the collapse. Then there will be no ham with the green eggs.

It's been fun. I am going home now. Be well Ken. I disagree with you so much that I would come with my machette and cut you up into little pieces, bu tyou did serve. As misled as you may have been that still deserves respect. And I am quite a bit more of an ally than this group of thugs who own the fucking government now.

I just wish you would understand Smedlet P. Butler. This fucking government is NOT your friend. It is a tool of the rich.

Fellow -> RE: Ron Paul's not going to speak. (8/27/2012 3:31:22 AM)

Basically, as I see it, It just confirms; there are no political parties in the US, and there are no party conventions. It is just a show prepared and staged by a small circle of power elites. The convention de facto decides nothing and elects nobody, we know exactly what they will say and who the candidates will be. The Democrats are the same, no difference here. I will probably watch some of it, but just for entertainment value, not for information.

It's a battle between the Neo-Con GOP and the ~libertarian wing of the GOP. The Neo-Cons have the numbers.

The problem is that they're telling the Libertarians "Our way or the highway" and they need every vote they can get. They don't understand that Libertarians are stubborn fucks who don't like being dictated to. I mean, DUHHHHHH, thats why they're Libertarians LOL.

kalikshama -> RE: Ron Paul's not going to speak. (8/27/2012 6:17:44 AM)

Unbelievable:

http://www.examiner.com/article/rnc-power-play-makes-third-party-more-likely

...In a story that has received very little attention in the national media that tends to take its marching order from the well-funded major parties, the Republican National Committee has spent much of this past week trying to unseat duly elected delegates to the national convention because they are supporters of Congressman Ron Paul. The final blow came yesterday when the RNC, unable to get the Maine delegation to comply with a series of so-called compromises, simply decided to nullify the entire Maine delegation and replace them with their own hand-picked delegates. In effect, the Republican National Committee has said that Maine does not exist. In response to this perceived abuse of power, Republican Governor Paul LePage from Maine quickly made a statement that he will follow through with his promise to boycott the National Convention because he believes his citizens are being disenfranchised.

Lucylastic -> RE: Ron Paul's not going to speak. (8/27/2012 6:35:12 AM)

Meh not so much Kali, at least in my opinion, With the voting districts being changed, voting hours being cut , attempted voting hours being cut in dem districts, voting lists being purged, voting ID laws, etc etc blah blah ad nausea et puke, Plus all the fundie right stances, cuts and bills plus Ron Paul being shut out, The Romney /Ryan *and other* picks. Its patently obvious they have no desire to be running the country.
I am in agreement with Tazzy, and have been for a long time, its all a badly written show. Its the Jersey Shore of american politics..And I thought the Palin debacle was torturous
the question is are the american people truly gonna suck it up and vote against their own interests.

That's exactly it. If Paul endorses Romney, then it's a race between him and Obama. If he refuses to endorse Romney, he's handing the race to Obama. Right now, he's not either endorsing or withholding endorsement. I wonder if he's holding out to get leverage to negotiate some more.
