She banned half of P&R and then quit as near as I can tell.

In all fairness, about half of P&R sounds less like a problem and more like a cure for one.

Actually, with about 2% of PnR gone, it's quite peaceful down there now.

Well since I liked a bunch of the banned people and she had made clear I was going as well I was less than thrilled by her actions.

I dunno... I think I've received one or maybe two shiny golden notes so far. I think they were from TwentyOne and/or Alpha. Can't remember. It's been a while. I deserved them... well, I didn't really think I deserved ONE of them, but I could see their point of view on it as well, so was still okay with it. Over all, I do like the mods here, they're pretty nice. I can see how some might complain about a few inconsistencies here and there, but I'd still give them about a 99% accuracy rating. Better than any of the other sites I visit, by far.

Note the grinning smiley. I was attempting humor, apparently without success.

Nothing says we HAVE to welcome them at all. Just don't respond to them.

True, but this wasn't what I was originally pointing out.

ModTwentyOne's post:

Think about this... if someone demands everyone bow down, and no one does, but instead says "welcome to the forums", do you think they're getting what they want?

My response:

ORIGINAL: DeviantlyD

Actually yes, in a sense, because giving a welcome implies kowtowing. And saying nothing but a welcome implies that particular twat's commentary is acceptable. JMHO.

See above.

Regarding the "obvious", if you don't believe that an 18 year old chica who, on her introductory thread, claims she is a fin domme wanting pay piggies to buy her things from her Amazon wish list or to have these same pay piggies send money cards is obvious, then I have no idea how you define "obvious".

I have deserved every note I ever got from the mods. It has made me think before hitting enter most times.

I gotta say though, sometimes a person is so stupid and dangerous that it would be worth getting moderated if it got them to think about their ignorance, just for one second.

Of course, people like that do not think it is them, it is always everyone else, so, they would not even understand the great sacrifice I made on their behalf!

Greetings

I am not under any restrictions on the forum that I know of, and the mods are kind and polite, however I do think this forum is to heavily moderated. I did get a gold letter here the other day for replying to a thread on the front page on the Gorean board but it was a month old. I mean I would get it if I had dug the thread up from the deep dungeons of archived obscurity but it was right there on the front page.

I also participated on a thread on the general BDSM forum which was removed because the thread starter was a sock puppet, and all threads associated with that thread was removed as well though they where reopened later. I think it is wrong to remove a whole thread because one poster do something wrong.

I do feel that at any time for the smallest slight then a thread or post can be removed and I know it makes me less motivated to participate on the forum as I am thinking why should I use allot of time to make a post, argue my point and contribute if it can be removed if a mod just do not like the thread or if one of the other posters do something wrong. A forum can be over or under moderated and both are as bad, and to me Collarme are currently over moderated.

I wish you well

I actually agree with this. There are some people that come into introductions with attitudes, expectations or sheer idiocy that need someone to say "What the fuck is wrong with you!?!"

That said, it's a free site moderated by volunteers. I'm here as their guest. I try to rein myself in and follow the rules when faced with the idiocy that happens in introductions. (That's the only forum that has generated a gold letter for me)

Same here. If I find out who someone is, my opinion of them doesn't matter. They will not be outed, nor will I even engage in random speculation.

Oh heavens, if we did that, I would personally obliterate probably 95% of the Politics & Religion Forum. But Alpha won't let me. Now THERE is a big meanie pants!
