Well there are reasons to hold religions in little regard.   Nonetheless, the anti-porn platform is typical of the rights desire to crush free speech.

I think it has more to do with their utter ignorance of modern technology coupled with their desire to pander to those who are even more ignorant.

It's like the old saying. "In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king"

We are in for more borrow and spend so they may have an eye amongst them?

Just saying, Mormons are pretty much never as clean and pure as they claim to be, and that Paul Ryan sure does work out an awful lot for a straight guy.....

So, here, you paint an entire group of people with a broad brush and you imply that the other is gay.

That quote already shows that you hold mormans in little regard. That's fine.

Is there something wrong with a gay person running for office?

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Going back to work, but in a nutshell, the point I am trying to make (or, at least, a point I am trying to make) is that when folks start doing the Church Lady dance and declaring themselves holier than thou, they have it coming.

Well, I would never say that another person is throwing baseless accusations around ... I'm "just saying"

I understand your clarification. I also understand that you've already made up your mind that the republicans are running a perverted deviant and a gay man. I'm kind of surprised that you make the distinction. Based upon the first accusation, I thought you'd lump the second one in there.

I'm glad you've got a firm grip on the real issues that should decide a presidential election.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Michael, I don't think you've understood a word I said.

which right wing haters said god is punishing the homosexuals by 9/11 which right wing hater said god is punishing the homosexuals by hurricane Katrina?

Which right wing haters are for massive government regulation of peoples thoughts as evidenced by the anti-porn platform.

Small boats should keep close to shore.

The problem is the the GOP see sex as a evil thing that is only acceptable to do if one is trying to have children. They would prefer that no one (except them of course when they cheap on their wives and husbands) have sex other than in missionary position, with the light turned off, as quickly as possible, with someone they are married to with the nursery already set up, the problem is the human nature do not work like that, humans like sex and that is how it is, and unless humans get sex we tend to get frustrated and no good comes from that.

Or maybe, just maybe, they actually respect the power of sex (both babies AND bonding) instead of treating it like a cheap thrill?

And what exactly is wrong with a cheap thrill?

Have you considered for a moment what website this forum is part of?

That's really never been a republican goal, just a meme.

" Trueman said youth access to pornography amounted to "a major, major problem," and even caused males in their twenties to develop "porn-induced sexual dysfunction."

Just a thought or two, on this portion.

I don't really indulge in porn, myself. I'm not saying "never". I'm saying extremely rarely. I have no desire, by-and-large, to restrict access to porn to others but, let's look at that statement ...

How many times, just on these boards, have we experienced people that come to us with a "porn watcher mentality"? Surely, you've seen people post very similar descriptions of people that come on here, ordering all of us to bow down to their awesomeness?

So, while I don't think that porn affects all people that way, I certainly buy a phrase like "porn-induced sexual dysfunction" because it seems to be pretty accurate in some cases.

Certainly, being able to actually obliterate all versions of pornography would be a huge deterent to this happening but doesn't porn come from someone's idea? Doesn't it originate with someone saying: "I should take a picture of/write about/make a video about ____________. It would be HOT!"

So, banning porn would be about as effect at fighting PISD as banning alcohol was at fighting alcoholism.

I would remind you that all political groups have a platform or a mission statement or a code of beliefs.

I think I remember the dems talking about balancing the budget four years ago. Has the current democratic president presented a budget in a while?

Certainly, the budget wouldn't be balanced, anyway. We're nowhere near out of the woods.

So, just because a group has a list of ideals, doesn't mean that those ideals will come to fruition.

Also, there's laughable ideals everywhere, if we look hard enough.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Edited because there's no "P" between the "O" and the "U" in "Should". Damn my stubs!
"platform" also has an "r" before the 'm"; not an "e"

So you equate the articulating the desire to balance the budget, with a major party stating as one of their goals to stamp out pornography?
Really ? There I thought you were a con .

Now, if Romney wants to talk about parents not using the TV and the computer and the iphone as electronic babysitters, that (in my mind) would be an interesting shift in the current social climate.

And you know I was only kidding with you. I happen to have a similar view.

Wait a minute ,this is just dandy,Michael is on here talking all the time about"shrinking government",cutting taxes, starving the beast...all the usual Republican pablum bullshit.
Yet here we go again Republican intrusion into the morality of America....not only are they going to ban porn(the economy can take care of itself) they are, were Michael to get his way<going to lay down rules and regulations for America's parents......too fucking rich.

With someone they are married to?????? Did anyone tell them this....Seems there are a lot of facts pointing to them (conservatives) having sex well outside the marriage...seems if you are on your knees with a cock in your mouth as long as you are married and your wife does not know you are still straight and it's no big deal...until the press find out, then you have a sexual addiction, or you lost your path with God, but now you are better...but porn and homosexuality is bad ..bad ...bad..

Answer? Turn off hot air and RTFM regarding the browser... Who knows. Might even lead to actually reading and thinking about your party's platform.

Well it seems the right is going after porn again, it's a safe bet for them, they can preach to their base and make liberals look eveil knowing full well it will go nowhere...

But I was not aware that watching porn is making people in there 20's not able to perform normal sex because all they want to do is masturbate all day long....

" Trueman said youth access to pornography amounted to "a major, major problem," and even caused males in their twenties to develop "porn-induced sexual dysfunction."

"It's the Viagra problem for guys in their 20s," Trueman said. Young males are now spending "10 to 12 years looking at porn on the Internet and masturbating to it, so when they are getting married, they are dysfunctional sexually because their brain maps are changed. They enjoy what they've been doing for 10 to 12 years. Normal sex is not something that gets them excited."

And here is what Willard wants to do, this is from the last time when he lost in the primary ...

"The broader regulation, submitted by Family Research Council president and Louisiana RNC delegate Tony Perkins, also echoes GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney's position on the issue during his previous campaign for the White House.

"I wanna make sure that every new computer sold in this country after I'm president has installed on it a filter to block all pornography and that parents can click that filter to make sure their kids don't see that kinda stuff coming in on their computer," Romney said at a campaign stop in Iowa in 2007.

"Sorry, no matches were found containing "I wanna make sure that every new computer sold in this country after I'm president has installed on it a filter to block all pornography and that parents can click that filter to make sure their kids don't see that kinda stuff coming in on their computer,".

This is ridiculous pandering brought on by STOOOOOPIT people who re-paste crap they got in an email.

Number 1, SOPA was obliterated, meaning...the world said "NO" to censorship.

Number 2, learn to read and do your own research...Presidents propose....Congress disposes.

Meaning....the rule of law still exists in this country.

Clues are for sale on aisle 12.

Buy one.
