Yeah but...... are these your slaves or your kids?

One was a slave, the other a sub.

Yeah, we're married and estate-planned up the wazoo. Wills and estates for dummies is a must read, no matter what your status.

At the MasT convention, they always have a great workshop on this issue. It's like a private consult with a pricey lawyer.

I'd recommend, in addition to a will, that every dom write a letter to their slave/sub making their feelings and love clear in case they die suddenly.

I always keep a set of letters for my sub/slave [plus a set for my family and close friends] in case I pass suddenly and unexpectedly. I try to update them regularly.

Everything changes based on your personal status. Wills can be changed and, in some cases challenged in court. It is easy to change and hard to contest the beneficiary of a life insurance policy. Also cheaper to change.

The best response to the ops question as to how she should react is a profound "thank you" followed by " I prefer you to any financial benefit". The op can follow that with "let me know what you want me to do with the residual"

My will stipulates she gets a life estate with the residual going to my family.

Greetings,

I married her :)

This.

It is difficult for me to surmise that degree of life investment with an individual I wasn't tied to in some significant fashion. I don't discount the suitableness of other arrangements for those that find them appropriate. But I need to know that we're in this for the long haul.

Regards,
