contrast their care for Mr. Romney with their care for Mr. Obama.

of course Mr. Obama seems to let them bend the rules

I guess that it is a good idea to keep the folks watching your back happy.

Your implications are outrageous and insulting to men and women whose job it is to die in defense of others.

Incredible,. equating the actions of off duty SS agents... and the policy of taking up knives before the President enters with an agent who left her firearm unattended during duty....

Talk about a smear attempt.

These behaviors are insulting and outrageous to me as a taxpayer, a former peacetime defender of the cold war frontiers of freedom.
In a strange way, I am comforted that the Secret Service is enough at peace with the President's safety that they can occasionally party down. That seems to indicate that the threat level is pretty low.
Had I grown up speaking Spanish, I might have been insulted at having my knife and fork taken away during a dinner, although I was mildly amused at that.
Misplacing a firearm on a security detail is quite inexcusable under any circumstances. Thank whomever you want that nothing happeed. There is a huge difference between dying in defense of others and leaving the shooter a gun.

Off duty is just that. They went too far... they got into trouble.

At the level of a dinner hosting the President as speaker, I doubt the attendees were too upset.

Which one? on the plane? pissed... as I am now.

The partiers? off duty... their time.. they fucked up.. they paid.

Not sure what your point is here.

Sorry guys, the Secret Service is't a political appointmet, and the rules that are set for termination etc. are civil service, not set by whom they protect.

It's not me they are protecting and it's not me that they will answer to . Walking around 24 /7 never knowing if or when it may happen has to take a toll on their minds . So she will be walking the dog for the next few years if she is lucky and keeps her job .
