How do we welcome new people here? What do you say to help someone -- advice, welcoming, directions, good books to read, things to avoid? Wes PS Perhaps we should start a leather welcome wagon...

After a quick welcome on the introduction forum I usually suggest they go back and read old threads on here.

I'd say welcome and read, read, and read some more. Educate yourself. Don't allow other's to define who you are. Educate yourself if you don't agree with something they don't. Be who you are inside. Education is power. Subs need power to. Most Dominants I have spoken to want a submissive who has their own power. The submission is greater when it comes.

Gloria, great suggestion in regards to reading. i feel that that it helps so much in gaining some understanding before attending anything. Books and websites are great resources! jill

Riot, i am sorry what did you mean specifically with that comment? i see nothing wrong with educating oneself and gaining knowledge but that is just my opinion. jill

I'm very cautious when it comes to this. So, I read and read. Talked to MANY who were involved in the lifestyle for years. It's very important to educate yourself, before jumping in head over heels. Just my opinion though. I eventually, got tired of only researching though..lol.
