I think it odd that a piece of clothing so 'Meh" should be considered a threat.

Count me underwhelmed.

Now, a pair of gloves with spikes on the back... THAT wouldn't make it past the schoolhouse door.

Neither. Not being a mind-reader, I don't know what Zimmerman was thinking as he fired. I was simply referring to the considerable amount of discussion that ensued about Martin's wearing a hoodie and how that particular bit of apparel is often associated, most likely unfairly, with thuggery. Against that backdrop, it seemed mildly amusing to see a hoodie showing up at Balmoral, perhaps the polar opposite of an urban war zone.
