Hehe. Well, knowing how guys are, I'm sure the 102 year-olds were all trying to get a piece of her!

This reminded me of a poster on here once who was trying to excuse his going after the young babes- I think he was in his late 50's. He tried using some "well-known" mystical formula as justification for his preference that says a woman should be half your age plus 7, or something like that. I was so ticked, I posted that then I'd have to be with an 82 year old and what was fair about that? Just because I am a woman, I'm supposed to be with someone who is 82? It was so annoying. Then he tried backpedaling and saying it was just a "guideline". [8|]

I remember that! Nauseating.

You know with today's gadgets and shit, there is absolutely no excuse for not having pics or able to take one.

I've spent a lot of time on Planet Caregiver. My future involves...three people who I hope live to be old. I am not taking more of that on if I can help it. I've given up too much of my life for that already.

Lance = 62.  Some health problems totally under control with medication.  Think diabetes - except it's not that particular health problem.

A potential slave and I  hit it off after a couple of CMails.  I reveal and he bails since he doesn't want to be my caregiver. He leaves by saying "Sorry that it was going so well, but I can't handle that."

My Mom had same problem and didn't need assisted living until 75.  So, I guess I'm offering 13 years 'cept I take much better care of myself than my Mom ever did.

And having a 7-year slave / lover die in my arms of AIDS, I can understand why some in this thread say "not again."  My profile says "Prefer HIV negative." And that has NOT stopped some damn fine men from approaching.

Irony: Potential slave was 58; 4 years younger than myself.  Just who is going to be the caregiver for whom?  IF there is going to be one anyway.... LOL!

Bottom line - life LAUGHS and LAUGHS and LAUGHS at us all the time.  Relationships are too necessary to one's mental health and all around well-being to "live alone."  Study after study has shown people in relationships live longer.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: [Rant Alert] Aaarrrrrrrgh!!!!!!! This never stops frustrating me! (9/2/2012 7:58:04 PM)

Lance, if no one says 'yes' to us, then we get to be alone. That's how most of us really live. It's how I live.

I have met up with guys who clearly sent me photos at least a decade old. They do themselves a great disservice.

First, I will be offended by their deception before they even say a word.

Second, the unexpectedness of their actual appearance will hit me like a slap in the face, leaving me a bit shocked. Guys, that's not the kind of situation where the element of surprise is your friend!

I think the best online dating strategy is to provide photos that are appealing, but that are not as good as how you look in person. Then, when you show up to the restaurant, your date is like, "Well hel-LOOOOO!!!!" That jump starts the meal, and gives at least me some extra confidence to use when flirting.

One of my cliches: If you don't ask, they can't say "yes."
Of course, if they say "no," one moves on.

Lance continues to ask....

LadyHibiscus -> RE: [Rant Alert] Aaarrrrrrrgh!!!!!!! This never stops frustrating me! (9/2/2012 8:28:47 PM)

Honey, if I waited for someone to ask ME, I'd still be waiting.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: [Rant Alert] Aaarrrrrrrgh!!!!!!! This never stops frustrating me! (9/2/2012 9:06:23 PM)

Huh I dont have my age, at least I dont think so. But I am not here for the dating. If someone was I cant figure out why they would lie like that. 10 years is a lot. I could see someone struggling with turning 30 or 40 and keeping it at 29 or 39 for a little longer but 10 years. Well when a person they are messaging finds out I would think they would be pissed and cut contact.

You got that right. Then I went on a rant.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: [Rant Alert] Aaarrrrrrrgh!!!!!!! This never stops frustrating me! (9/2/2012 9:19:57 PM)

LOL right! I would too. My husband is almost 5 years older then me so older does not bother me, but being lied to would.

I'd love to meet a nice guy five years older than me. The ones my age and younger are usually not mature enough.

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: [Rant Alert] Aaarrrrrrrgh!!!!!!! This never stops frustrating me! (9/2/2012 9:33:56 PM)

Oh I know the feeling. I was still in high school when I met him. The first thing I liked about him was he was not like the idiots I went to school with that only wanted to get drunk then have sex so they could brag the next day at school who they bagged. He had his own car and apartment plus he was not all into seeing how fast he could get a girl in bed to be able to have bragging rights. LOL my mother did not know how old he was though LOL. That was interesting when she found out, But yeah I have heard many times that girls mature quicker then boys. Everything I saw in high school convinced me that it was true.

The profile says age 39. Turns out his real age is 48.

Worse, that fact comes out only after *I* raise the issue several messages in. I look at his photo, look at his profile, look at his photo again (noting that it oddly bears a date stamp reading '98), look at his profile again. Finally, fearing that I am being rude, I ask how old he actually is.

"Uh...oh yeah, I never got around to updating that. Just didn't seem important..."

Gawd, deception is a turnoff!!!

Don't tell Master I said this....ssshhh.....but he never changes his age. [:D] When I first met him I thought he was the age his profile says. Then after about the third date I said I really didn't know anything about him, his last name or if he was who he said he was. He handed me his drivers license and I figured it out. He was older than his profile. I never made a big deal about it though because by that point he had me hooked. [:)] He said the same thing though when I said something to him on his next birthday I think and he hadn't changed it....it just didn't seem important. Now had I met him and you could tell he was obviously not the age he had on his profile, it would have been very obvious and I wouldn't have gone any further than a cup of coffee.

If there had been a huge age gap between us even then I probably would have felt disappointed and wanting to move on. But thankfully there isn't even despite the fact that he just never bothers to update his age. He just never thought about it and assumed Collarme automatically updated.

Now he likes to joke that I'm older than him and he likes to trick me into thinking it when he says something and I don't catch on right away. lol

I told Master I'm just going to start telling everyone I'm 29. I mean, everytime someone finds out I'm actually 40 they stand and stare at me for awhile until they say I look like I'm 25. Heh. So I think I'll just ask, "how old do you think I am?" and if they answer 25, I'll just agree. [8D]

Moonlightmaddnes -> RE: [Rant Alert] Aaarrrrrrrgh!!!!!!! This never stops frustrating me! (9/3/2012 6:59:25 AM)

LOL when we first met I had to show my now husband my ID to prove I was 17 and not below the age of consent. He was in the military and one of his friends had just gotten into huge trouble not only with the police but with the military as well for sleeping with a 14 year old girl who told him she was 17. You just cant be too careful these days.

And no one ever believes I am 38 years old. They all assume I am in my 20's. I have to point out my oldest is 20 and I was not THAT young when I gave birth the first time.

Well, as others have said here it's a lot more forgivable for the folks that aren't single or looking. Was his appearance at least true to the photo(s) he gave you before meeting?

This crap happened to me twice yesterday! I had another one message me with his profile saying he's 45, but it turns out he's 47. When called on it, he gets all self-righteous and does the old, "Well I shaved some years off because I look and act younger than my real age!"

BTW, in my experience, the answer to that is usually "No you don't, and no you don't."

I should write a song about all this and title it "Denial."

Happened to me a couple of months ago. He was coming in from another state, I was there to pick him up at the train and take him to the rental car place. I had no idea who it was walking up to me. Instead of a head full of hair, he had one very bad comb over. He was at best 5'8" instead of the 6'1" he claimed. And he was quite a bit older and heavier than his very old photo showed. Thing was, I still would have helped him get settled, if he had been honest. Since he wasn't I declined dinner and went my merry way.

I always pray for sudden windy weather when I see that kind of hairdo [:D]

You don't know how badly I wanted a pair of scissors. Wind is fun too.

Kana likes cougars
Those older experienced women-they know their way around the boudoir.
