Haha, it's a bit coincidental, I had a bit of a debate on whether Chivas Regal was better than GlenLivet. Update The Chivas was mine but I'm conceding the Glen has a lot of good points... They both do the trick thats for sure. Heh. Umm they both say "Scotch Whisky" whats with the Scotch vs Whisky thing your talking about? -ARIES

In Ireland , it's against the law to call it whiskey unless it's been thrice distilled, and aged a minimum of 7 years in an oak cask. Scots make decent enough whiskey, but....

I have a bottle of Michael Collins whiskey, right here in my hand and it is only distilled twice (and their advertising here, brags about that) and it is absolutely a product of Ireland. I stand corrected, some quick googling says that it's 3 years of aging, also. I got the triple distilling and 7 years from an old Irishman, long ago, perhaps things were different then.

I have discovered Crown Royal Black. It is a very good thing indeed. Scotch = Laphroig or Glenmorangie. Or whatever someone is serving me, in which case I say Ta like a civilised person.

Triple distilled is smoother, like Bushmills. Whiskey (Irish) is superior to whisky (Scotch), naturally.... not that I am in any way prejudiced of course... oh... and femsubs should be called whatever their name is, or what they ask you to call them, unless they look to you, in which case whatever you like.

There's a Crown Royal black? Can it be mixed with ginger, like the purple velvet stuff or is that sacrilege? Recently discovered Jura "Superstition". It has honey undertones. It's quite lovely.

I tasted no diff for the ten buck premium. Most of the Duty Free-only scotch is a con. The Wall Street Journal has a good article to google.
