It has taken the Right many many decades to learn how to pronounce and spell the word 'racist'. It's unrealistic not to expect them to take several more decades to learn the meaning of the word.
Let's face it, being quick to learn things was never the Right's forte. For example, on the economic front, they're advocating a return to laissez-faire economics, which the rest of the world abandoned almost two centuries ago. So, when it comes to the learning process, a few decades is neither here nor there for them.
