Thanks for passing this article along. Kind of a shame that we can't preserve a find like this as a historical site.

The decaying club was found two stories below street level, filled with paintings depicting sexually explicit and violent images. One image showed a person in bondage, and another depicted a man devouring another person, according to WHAS 11.

Fuck... the"man devouring another person" was a rendition of "Saturn Devouring His Son" by Goya. That was obvious...

Ironic... evidently the original had been painted on the walls of Goya's house in the early 19th century.

All the paintings are intriguing. I wonder if any of them were fluorescent... Excellent creepy look, I can imagine it was very grungy fun in its day.

I'm such a slut for abandoned buildings! I could spend many delightful hours exploring here.
Then I'd spend many hours more at the library, researching the history of the place.

If I ever make it to Kentucky, I'm going to add this to my places to explore,
along with this place!

There was a building built back in the early 1800's here they called the washington Hotel. It had a lot of history from being a whore house, a place where illegal booze was stored and sold during the prohibition, to part of the underground railroad. It was kept up until the late 80's until for whatever reason they stopped keeping it up and it quickly fell into disrepair. It was sad when they finally tore it down when no one would pay the money to restore it and it was crumbling doing nothing but falling apart and attracting teenagers in there when it was not safe for anyone to be in there.

anyone interested in the hobby of exploring abandonned buildings should watch this documentary (it's actually only the trailer of the documentary btw) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoXVsg62JHE

I'd be pretty interested myself, except for the undertunnels......a bit yucky!

I like to explore the land around old wooden houses. Many of them will have a dump or burn site on property. I have found a lot of old glass bottles that way.

I hope you people are getting the message.

Remove all the incriminating gear from your dungeon before you abandon it.

Unless you want to wind up on the News.

In which case... y'know.

Misslexiaveri -> RE: S&M Club Found Abandoned in Louisville, Ky., Under Dilapidated Historic Buildings (9/6/2012 4:23:54 PM)

I thought something didn't ring true about the reporting of a fetish club.

"A few pieces of torture gear were also found inside, including a wooden rack with headrest and a rusted chain that can be turned by a handle with a saw blade connected to it."

This was made to sound like some sort of decapitation table like you'd see in SAW films, when in fact, on closer inspection of the photos, the so called "saw blade" is nothing more than the rack's ratchet mechanism. This makes more sense and would be more what I'd expect in a fetish club.
