I believe in natural Doms. They have different vibe and the way I feel in a real Dom's presence is somewhat like being tipsy, melting kinda thing, and aroused. I went out on a couple friend-dates with Doms and no matter what they called themselves, I knew who is what:)Intuitively I am always drawn to dominant people, men and women.
I also agree with Esme611, being a dominant for them it's just being them. Just like I am a submissive everywhere and always and I'm pretty sure people can feel it, not even knowing what the heck that means.

It's more likely just your perception of them.

Not really, besides Doms I can sense other types of people, just being around Doms is my favorite one:)I am not saying that I'm psychic, b/c I'm not, but I can feel and understand what kind of person is next to me. I can also influence on how they feel, I'm a giver and often give my positive energy to those who is upset etc.

I think you're missing OSF's point. I suspect we all believe that you can sniff out what smells like "dominant" to you. But it's important to remember that "dominant" to you may not be the same thing as "dominant" to someone else. So what you can sense (much like Carol) is "the kind of dominant that you assess as dominant". In fact it's no different than me sniffing out "the kind of submissive that I find submissive". I just don't think I have a corner on that word.

Not to mention the main point. Does a "natural" dominant, need to proclaim themselves so, or does it come out in their actions. Personally, I feel if you have to say it every third sentence, you definitely aren't.

Purviewing your profile it seems to me that you are a natural slave.

As for your pain as mentioned in your journal, there is a health and safety forum on this side of CollarMe. I suggest that you present your case there.

But how much of an action Doms can show here on CM or any other?

Of course they don't need to proclaim. Moreover, some Doms have no idea of what they are, but that doesn't change the way they live their life (maybe they are a little bit unhappy, because they don't express dominance in the bedroom as much as they would want to). I was talking about those Doms that I've met on CM and already had an understanding or they thought so. Since they were already in tune with BDSM and they labeled themselves as Doms, but when we met I would/wouldn't feel that dominance at all.

What am I trying to say is there are men, who are dominant, naturally. Lucky those who know that, b/c it gives them a chance to work on their sense of control, become skilled, and make subs happy:) And there are those who have no idea what exactly would make them happy. Just like me. I was always a sub, however, I didn't know about that. I had no idea about D/s relationship. I was so unhappy in my vanilla relationship with my fiance that I stopped having sex with him. I thought, "that's it, I'm 27(at that time) and I am done with that part of my life". My sexuality was really dying next to a submissive man. Up until the moment of a light bulb, tons of reading on a subject, and understanding that i am a natural submissive that needs a Dom to blossom.

How does one show dominance? That I can't answer for anyone but myself. Hell, I have been exploring kink since I was 17 (and learning about it for some time before that). One thing though, I always knew I was dominant. Didn't have the name to it until I learned, but it is who I am. Do I come across as one, not in the slightest. That is more of my personality than if I was so. Mine is personal, between the one I am with. But that is how I handle my dominance.
