A catfight between a cow and a bunny. There's something you don't see every day.

Some people would pay good money to see that.

Interesting responses. A full fledged argument even. lol
Here is the dictionary meaning:
: a person held in servitude as the chattel of another
: one that is completely subservient to a dominating influence  People today use the title of slave to describe many types of  sometimes/partial subordinate/subserviant  relationships. It can make it difficult to find the one you seek.Someone should start a web site that defines different levels of submission. Perhaps slave type 1. 2. 3. and so on.

Its already been tried.....and failed. There's far too many ways to do WIITWD to try to shoe horn everybody into a label.

un -> RE: slave? (9/9/2012 2:57:11 PM)

Really...Which sites were they ?
Shoe horn ?

fast reply

English is a wonderful language, with such complexity and depth that incredible nuance and specific meaning can be conveyed. A great many years of developing, adapting and borrowing from other languages has led to a richness and texture that allows even the least poetic user to draw such fine and detailed distinctions of meaning. And yet it still falls vastly short of even beginning to express the infinitely more complicated subject of human relationships and interactions.

Or to put it another way: words are just words. Every relationship is unique to the people involved. We use these words, like 'submissive', 'slave', 'master', inadequate though they are, as a starting point in our communication - just a vague, general point of reference to help others understand roughly where we are coming from, so that we can enter into meaningful discussion. Don't get too hung up on the definitions of individual words. It's like trying to discuss the colour blue - you'll never know for sure whether your eyes see the same shades that mine do, and to argue which is 'right' is meaningless.

When you say 'these people claim to be slaves but are really subs' what you are really saying is 'these people don't meet the standards I want them to'. Human relationships are not absolutes. I may not love the same way as you, but you can't tell me I'm not experiencing 'true' love.

^^^^^ What she said times a million!

I'll give you one for free, you'll have to actually find the rest yourself. It's been done to death all over the place including a ton of sites that don't exist anymore.

What is your definition of a true slave? So many like to think of themselves as slaves but are actually subs.

Since you clearly have a definition, perhaps you could share it with us?

LadyHibiscus -> RE: slave? (9/9/2012 3:58:12 PM)

Crazy!! Do not encourage itttt...

What I want to know is why the regulars - you KNOW who you are - didn't just say "Thread topic has been done before.  GO to search for hundreds of answers to your question."

And then there is always the option of choosing communication when trying to find the one you week, rather than asking a bunch of strangers for definitions of labels that are unique to individuals in relationships.

un -> RE: slave? (9/10/2012 4:40:02 AM)

Oh I get it.......this isn't about actually having a conversation, or even BDSM/slavery for that matter. Just another bunch of chronic losers. The one who can be the nastiest to anyone who actually wants to ask a question wins. Very helpful folks. Apparently this site is a waste of time accept for those that are actually just wasting time.

searching4mysir -> RE: slave? (9/10/2012 5:55:13 AM)

Your OP didn't really leave much to discuss. It was obvious from the start that you had decided that most of those who call themselves slaves were liars (and really subs instead).

Quite frankly, why should anyone care how you define slave vs. sub if they have no intentions of getting involved with you? Only the sub/slave who is considering you for their dom should be worried about it as a part of setting expectations and developing a relationship.

Mmmhhhhmmm totally, that's why the few questions I ask are answered genuinely and helpfully...

If all questions you ask end up like this, search for the common factor in them all. YOU

For me: my Owner considers me his slave, he has blanket consent to do what the hell he likes built over several years of friendship before we even started playing. What others consider me as, I really don't care.
