Rule -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/12/2006 12:02:23 PM)

It is a law to protect those who are not natural slaves from being convicted labourers.

Natural slaves do not need to be declared legal slaves, just like the sun does not need to be commanded to shine and give heat. You are a slave or submissive. Formalizing that by a law would be superfluous. So why would you want to have that embedded in law?

FisherKing1963 -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/12/2006 12:21:17 PM)

I swear to Christ...that is without a doubt the most intelligent thing I have heard anyone in this forum say since I signed up.
These people, gays included who want to get in everyone's faces with their lifestyle are not about being left alone to pursue happiness...they want to be recognized, then they want to be subsidized and to jam themselves down everyone's throat and demand that everyone fall down in reverence of their 'enlightened' lifestyle choices until everybody is sick to death of hearing about them.
In America you can get away with just about anything providing you keep a low profile and don't openly confront the government so they won't have to make an example of you to save face.
Your personal life is not the worlds business...keep it that way...you want to be a slave?...then be one but don't expect society to stand on it's head.
Are the cops beating down your door?...I doubt it...wanna know why...BECAUSE NOBODY GIVES A CRAP!!

Check one of the following:  __ male  __ female  __ male slave  __ female slave __ unowned male slave  __ unowned female slave

Need to add a checkbox under dependents on IRS forms for __ slave(s)

hmm... the more slaves owned, the more potential income tax refund, hehe!

Actually we all are slaves. Multinational conglomorates are "Master"-

"Master" is a legal entity- that can live perpetually. Can duck local governace by "race to the bottem" labour shopping.
Goverannce now is controlled by "Master"

All this due to some clerk making a typograpical error.

Termyn8or -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/12/2006 12:57:49 PM)

Actually I don't think it is illegal. While it is illegal to enslave someone against their will, it is also illegal to restrain or imprison them, or to have sex with them or flog them when it is not consensual.

I think I could write a slave contract that might have a chance of standing up legally, albiet a slim chance. It is not much more than an employment contract, they tell you what to do, and in alot of cases what to wear,  sometimes in general guidelines, sometimes a uniform.

One of the major problems is that you can't contract for sexual services, but if there is consideration on both sides of the deal, it MIGHT fly. Your dress code and chores are spelled out, along with must follow orders, then there must be something Master does for you. It may be simple financial support, it could even include Him managing your money. That does not mean He can just go out and spend it all as if it were His anymore than a stockbroker or fund manager.

Certain things can be made to hold up. So your uniform includes a leather and steel corset and collar. One of those chores might be licking boots. All legal as far as I can tell. Sex can't be part of the issue, but then Monica and Bill didn't have that in the job description either.

You can't contract to do anything illegal or it'll be thrown out, and that includes sex because it becomes prostitution, but D/s is not specifically about sex. If everything in the contract is legal, the contract is legal. For example a football player has quite an extensive contract outlining his acceptable actions 24/7, and they order him to go out on the field risking his safety. He wears protective equipment on the field because he is in a way, property, or to put it more nicely, an asset.

US citizens can contract damnear anything. Now if you are talking about making it into a legal status, see the Gay marriage thread. They are crazy to want the gov involved in their lives IMO. Some simple changes in the law would make it alot more fair to them without shoving a license down their throat.

I think it would be better to work on the contract thing. It would be like a combination lease/employment contract. Even if it didn't hold up in court, it would be kind cool.

Most cases of slavery here in the US are prosecuted under the Federal " Involuntary Servitude " statute. Involuntary being the key word.

Estring -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/12/2006 2:32:40 PM)

I really don't think the government will be after you because you are a consenting slave. The laws as others have stated, are to protect people from exploitation or non consensual slavery.

NakedOnMyChain -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/12/2006 5:19:28 PM)

Consensual slavery isn't illegal.  It is just not recognized as a legal union, and this is why:  It would be too easy to coerce or otherwise force someone into signing the legal documents required to make them a legal slave.  Also, becoming a legal slave doesn't leave a loophole for someone changing their mind.  It's just not feasible.

feastie -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/12/2006 5:39:33 PM)

Do you need the government to determine your slavery for you?  Think about that for a moment.  What if the government's definition of slavery didn't match yours and your Master's?  Would you want the government to tell you when/if you could have children?  How about deciding what work you should do?  Maybe they could tell you where you could live too.  Do you truly want the government having so much power over your life?

Estring -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/12/2006 8:24:43 PM)

Do you truly want the government having so much power over your life?

The funny thing is, many people want exactly that.

FangsNfeet -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/12/2006 8:58:22 PM)

Well, let's look at it this way.

Truck drivers have a special clock in there truck that keeps up with how often the driver stops for breaks and rest. By law, every truck driver is suppose to take a certain number of breaks during there trip. This is to protect the driver from being forced by his employer to drive unsafely.

According to labor laws, many employees are not allowed to work over 30 days straight without having atleast one day off. It's to protect the employee from forced labor.

Since so many opposed forced labor, laws were made to make it impossible to where even the employee does not have the choice. If the employee had the option of choosing, then the employer will have more loop holes to entrap you.

So it's labor laws that keep slavery from happening. It protects the employee and employer. After Slavery was abolished, it was made where we can't have our cake and eat it to. To keep slavery out, you have to also take away the option. After all, if you say that you choose to be a slave, how can it be proven that you are without a dout being forced against your will to stay?

Yes you may declare yourself someones slave but you always have the option to walk out of the situation. Slaves have the right to break up with there Masters.

babygirl005 -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/12/2006 9:05:48 PM)

And let's remember what we are talking about here people. The slavery that occured in our country's past and is a huge problem in many parts of the world is REAL slavery. We are not talking about real slavery.

Termyn8or -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/13/2006 2:57:37 AM)

Fellow slaves;

Make sure you have your insurance paid up and buckle up when you go out in your car. Make sure you get a permit (written permission) to build a garage or anything, and make sure it is built to their "code". Buy land, even for cash and pay rent on it in the form of property taxes. (and don't tell me how it helps the community, fuckum, how does it help me other than roads, which suck) Also, in some Ohio communities, if you "own" a jet ski, it needs to go in the garage, it is not allowed in the driveway, and no this is not a condo or development, this is the city. Even in Cleveland a guy went to jail for not having lids on his garbage cans.

Welcome to the real world.

Slaves can't have slaves. Property can't own property.

Fellow slaves;

Make sure you have your insurance paid up and buckle up when you go out in your car. So..make sure you're not buckled up when you get hit by the uninsured driver.  Although, who does that leave to pay for your burial or medical bills or your new car? Make sure you get a permit (written permission) to build a garage or anything, and make sure it is built to their "code". So don't buy a permit and don't build to code.  When it burns, you can pay a fat whopping fine, plus replacement value of it and of your neighbor's home that caught fire from your unpermitted, under code garage. Buy land, even for cash and pay rent on it in the form of property taxes. (and don't tell me how it helps the community, fuckum, how does it help me other than roads, which suck) Little Johnny doesn't have to go to school to get an education, after all.  We don't need no to stinkin taxes to pay for public services, like school.  Also, in some Ohio communities, if you "own" a jet ski, it needs to go in the garage, it is not allowed in the driveway, and no this is not a condo or development, this is the city. Even in Cleveland a guy went to jail for not having lids on his garbage cans.  If you live in one of these communities and you don't like their rules, move.
Welcome to the real world.  Find something worth bitchin about it.

Slaves can't have slaves. Property can't own property.
If you're a slave to the government or feel you are, then you've allowed yourself to feel that way.

You are confusing the Declaration of Independence with the Constitution.  The former is just a wish list sent to a former master justifying revolution and treason and has no bearing on the laws of this country.

Wolf1020 -> RE: slavery, Why not? (6/13/2006 10:36:48 AM)

because it would be to easy to then force people who are not interested in being slaves to be them.

"You want a job?  Well to work here requires you to sign yourself over to us."  Etc. Etc.

There is no law saying you can't submit yourself to someone and live as their slave, the law only comes into place if they abuse you, kill you, etc.  But so long as nothing otherwise illegal happens there is nothing illegal about living as a slave.  I am not agianst certian forms of endentured servitude (a form of slavery) and I am not agianst convicts being used basicaly as slave labor.  But outright saying slavery should be legal if the person signs themselves over is bad juju.

Which would mean clothing would be considered a business expense or a cost of doing business....hmmmmm this might have possibilities. [:D]
