I don't get it...he was in his office, on the phone with a radio commentary guy, turned on his TV to watch the horror as every one of us did....sorry...don't see any conflict.
(Last time I checked, one can {and I have} take(n) a phone call from a radio show or some interviewer from {my} desk...at my office).
How did the interviewer, that was on the phone with him, burst into the office and tell him the first plane had hit the tower?
"The interviewer interrupted to say there were reports that a plane had hit the World Trade Center"
No "bursting" required....a simple "Governor, we might want to stop this interview....I think you may want to turn your television on....someone has just flown a plane into the world trade center".

I didn't miss it at all....shit happens...it was 11 years ago.
I remember quite well where I was, what I was doing, what I was eating and drinking....I don't have camera's in my face every day.
Put yourself in front of a microphone, 11 camera's, stand in front of 10,000 people (or fewer than 2 dozen or even 3 individuals in Peoria), have someone put you on the spot 16 times a day, have someone...(or 3,000) dissect you, and everything you say and imagine this one thing:
"I will never make a nominal error in my response, which is mandated by the media in milliseconds...and I will be flawless in every aspect of my memory....despite being decades past the actual events".
