Hi,
I'm needing help to make a good profile. What advice or what would you ladies like to see or know about a submissive man? What do you look for in a profile.

Thanks
Cal

Usually a brain, and a pulse.

I'm not even a Domme and I know the answer to this.

I like a sub who can do his homework and follow directions. First read Profile Help: How to Attract a Dominant Woman in the Ask a Mistress FAQ. Think of your profile as an advertisement for yourself, that's actually what it is.

Among other things, I like to see a well-written profile where the person's personality shines through. It should not have a lot of spelling mistakes. It tells me what makes him, him. It lets me know some of his vanilla interests. You can include kink stuff in the list on the left side anyway if you want it in there. Speaking of the list to the left, vanilla and kinky stuff can go in there. The profile should also say what he wants from me in a dynamic and what he's willing to put into a dynamic. Personally, that S/slashy S/speak stuff drives me nuts and I just don't like it, the same goes for third person slavespeak. Other people's answers will vary of course.

Hey cal... did you know that your forum posts can be seen from your profile? I'd be cleaning that up because when people put two and two together... they might not get together with you. Past posts can and do hurt sometimes. You might want to work that out.

As for your profile... Did you know John Wayne or anything about his real personal life? Did you know he owned a boat he most often stayed on in Newport and was often mixing with the locals? Did you know what he wore for shoes? I think not. John was an actor... he was a man... a very colorful man and boy did that man like to drink! lol To those that knew him.. he was just a regular guy, living a life they all dreamed of, but still just a regular guy. If you think he never wore sandals or went barefooted in public... you might think about what it is like to live on a boat a great deal of the time and that tough guy image was an image. I would say he was a good ol boy, but he wasn't an actor other than in the movies and that all American hero, was just another guy sitting at the bar in Newport. (I didn't know him... just saw him around and close up and knew lots of people that did know him. I actually didn't want to meet him under the circumstances.)

So... with a few things that you said in your profile, I would be crossing my eyes and thinking, far too much work to straighten things out. Your image of men and self would send me to the next profile.

You might start over and this time... communicate effectively.

You've asked for opinions and opinion you shall receive:

I'm not a big fan of the femdom porn cartoons, especially not as users' avatars. There are those who like them. But, for me, it's a turn-off. I read them as being too specific as to what the male "submissive" wants and not, necessarily, what the Dominant wants. One has to ask, "What's the point of calling a Dominant a 'Dominant,' if her interests aren't being served and she is, instead, being directed to serve the 'submissive's' desires?" Not to say that is your bent; but, that is how I read those types of profiles. There may be a few ladies to whom this appeals. But, I'm not one of them.

Spelling, punctuation and correct word usage (ex: would have loved, instead of "would of loved") are important. There's no reason not to proofread. We all make mistakes, here and there. But, with a profile, one has plenty of time to "get it right."

Your profile text gives visitors a good idea of who you are and what you're about. Being yourself and expressing yourself honestly is a plus.

Best luck!
