My Mom asked her vet for some pain meds for her 14 yo Australian Sheep Dog. In just two days, she noticed a big difference. Apparently the pain was making her lose interest in food. Even her hearing is better - the vet said that Rimadyl is an anti-inflammatory and perhaps she had some inflammation in her ears. So Reba is no longer acting like a 98 year old but like a 72 year old :)

The vet gave Mom a partial bottle that someone had given back to him after their dog died, so I am shopping around to find the best place to buy it once this bottle runs out. When I did some research about a month ago, the cheapest place I found for Rimadyl and its generic Novox was DrsFosterSmith.com. There's another generic called Carpaquin that I haven't priced yet.

When my Husky had cancer I learned to never, ever, buy drugs at the vet - they were soaking us for $75 for an antibiotic Walmart carries for $4 >_<

.....

Now the cheapest place for Novox is allvetmed.com - anyone ever order from them?

Looks like Carpaquin is the cheapest and unless one is a vet, only available from DrsFosterSmith.com, which strikes me as odd.

I've ordered from 800petmeds and had excellent service from them (the one SNAFU was due to the FedEX guy being a twat). I also just recently ordered from PetShed (be warned: their billing is out of Hong Kong, and you'll probably have to call the bank to verbally authorize the transaction), but the product was here in the expected shipping time, and worked as advertised. I think the actual product is from AUS or NZ.

I agree with Greedy.

If you are not RIGHT THERE when they show up, like their very own good dog, the 'delivery' might amount to a note patiently informing you that you were not a good dog, and we will be trying this again, tomorrow. When you will ALSO have someplace else you have to be.

It didn't take Ben Franklin to figure out for the Postal Service that to deliver something means you LEAVE IT THERE. To this day, the Postal Services' competitors have difficulty with this astoundingly simple idea.

the fedex guy never even came to my door. just dropped the box in my mailbox (I guess it was too m,uch effort to actually drive or walk to the back of the lot where my house was). I did call and lodge a complaint with FedEx (what if the meds had been time sensitive or something???).
