137,988,219 tax returns out of 140,494,127 -- or 98.2 percent -- reported adjusted gross income of less than $250,000 a year in 2009, the most recent data available. So the middle class are the people between the 98.2% of the population that's poor, and the wealthy, wherever that line is.

I think that we should make it a codicil of any aid agreement that safety and security of Americans, regardless of why they are in Egypt be a primary concern of the Egyptian authorities.
