"Be careful Anais, abnormal pleasures kill the taste for normal ones."
~ Eduardo, (Anais Nin's Cousin in the movie Henry & June)

This was taken from a Master's profile here in collarme. This quote, rang well with me. My question to you is, has the lifestyle effected your "taste" for vanilla things...sex, relationships, etc? In a way of weakening the effects of any vanilla encounters you may have had. All open discussion is welcome, as always...:)

Absolutely Myra...

Late teens and early twenties my sex life was like any vanilla boy's. The more the better, i couldn't get enough. In/out/repeat.. nothing like it.

Since those days vanilla sex has waned for me to the point of being completely undesireable. Exploring my sexuality from a D/s perspective has opened my eyes up to what it is i really need in life, to be able to express myself from a true submissive perspective. My sexuality has evolved so much in fact, that to persue a vanilla relationship now would be completely unfulfilling, for her and me alike.

Since welcoming my kinks... i've even found that how i look at women and what i find attractive about them has changed as well.

I love my abnormal pleasures...

That was my quote for so very long. It rings so very true to me as well. I can still annoy a little vanilla now & then as long as I sprinkle it with kink.

I love that film as well. Uma Thurman and Maria de Medeiros kissing... brilliant! Kaufman really did a fantastic job.

When i entered in the scene, back in 97. I heard excatly that. Actually it was more of a warning........ <grin> That once you go into the lifestyle, vanilla sex will suck. MADE me think. LOL I actually at the age of 17/18 wondered if i was stepping into something that might be alittle too deep for me to swim in!

I have no interest in vanilla relationships and am not interested in ever becoming involved in one again. I can't really say that my interest in vanilla activities has diminished, however. I do feel fortunate that my Master likes to do both lifestyle and non-lifestyle type things because this suits me as well.

Take care :)

LadyAngelika- I love the way you put that!

I can still appreciate vanilla sex, as long as it's with a kinky partner....

as for a vanilla relationship, I'm not sure I could turn back even if I wanted to!

SentForu -> RE: Abnormal pleasures... (11/3/2004 10:02:16 PM)

I've found, I like a mixture of both. I want my cake, and eat it too. I want, tenderness, and aggression. Kinkyness, and love making. Both, rolled into one Dom. Is that too much to ask???? [:D]

EStrict -> RE: Abnormal pleasures... (11/3/2004 11:52:36 PM)

To me, they are not one thing or the other. I am a person who thinks and believes the old saying *lifes simplest pleasures are free*. *Free* is being able to take a deep breath and inhale the very being of Ross. *Free* is getting to shiver in the pleasure I feel just because he has wrapped his arms around me.

*Free* is the laughter we share (more important than any orgasm), when Master tires to to sing the ABC's to our 2 year old, and Race places his hand over Ross' mouth and says *hush the noise*.

I hope I will never be so jaded that I can't enjoy the simple and easy.... the things that *to me* will always be the most real....

even though this is only session for me, not a lifestyle i no longer want or do vanialla an have not for several months now. i started this about a year and a few months ago and since last year decided no vanilla for me when have session. i stopped seeing the one i was since the sex itself was vanilla and could not stand it.

Fidelity -> RE: Abnormal pleasures... (8/13/2005 4:51:20 PM)

I really have no idea of what vanilla is.

I've been abnormal and corrupted since I before I knew what sex WAS.

slavedesires -> RE: Abnormal pleasures... (8/13/2005 4:55:57 PM)

There just isnt enough control during vanilla sex for me... i need control. Even in "love making" i need control and He supplies well.

~~shy

edited to add.... the tenderness and compassion is there with the strictest of control.

Padriag -> RE: Abnormal pleasures... (8/13/2005 4:58:27 PM)

Can't say that it has dimnished my appetite for the one, only expanded it for the other.

stormsfate -> RE: Abnormal pleasures... (8/13/2005 4:58:45 PM)

Yes, and I was told before my first experience that it would [:D]

I can't say that i don't want any vanillia encounters...but i can say that if and when Mistress and i make love, with out any sort of kink, it is that much better because of the kink. We have a new found understanding of each other, and because of that it makes everything so much better. The life sytle fixed most of our day to day fights, Including the house work...

Now the house stays clean, things get done, and we are both much more content with they way things go.

So yes some days vanillia is good, and sometimes even great, but i'll keep coming back to the other side of the fence, because thats where i feel at home.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Abnormal pleasures... (8/13/2005 5:27:32 PM)

I don't mind vanilla sex. What I don't like are vanilla PEOPLE.

EvilTwin -> RE: Abnormal pleasures... (8/13/2005 5:39:20 PM)

Not a thing wrong with vanilla sex. I have it as often... if not moreso than "abnormal" sex.
If by vanilla you mean a quickie in the morning before work, laying in bed cuddling and making out, ect.
I enjoy things most others dont... this is true, but 13 years ago... sex got to the point that I had to push further, go more outlandish... just to feel.
Normal sex had no meaning, and it was getting to the point that even extreme kink wasnt working anymore.
Think of it as a drug user... at first... a little here and there makes them happy. but tollerance builds, and it takes more and more to hit that high.
Thats what happened to me.
At the age of 21... I stopped.
I took 2 years off and was celibate.
I got to know me... I got to know others... as more than objects to feed my desires and lusts.
Since then I am a new person. Happy with me and the others I choose to surround myself with.
So... the answer to your question... yes... if you allow it too, abnormal sex "can" make you jaded and indifferent to normal everyday vanilla sex... But it doesn't have to.

As to whether or not I like vanilla people... I like people for who they are... not what their likes and dislikes are.
If you are a person who appeals to me as a friend... I like you.
Be you priest, doctor, pervert, or child... I like the person... not the label.

Lordandmaster -> RE: Abnormal pleasures... (8/13/2005 5:47:37 PM)

Well, yes, I have vanilla friends, and I like them, but I would never have a sexual relationship with a vanilla person. Been there, done that. That's what I meant by "like."

Understood, My 2 marraiges were with vanilla women... #1 was great... she was vanilla with an extreme sex drive... and would do things to recieve the sex. Since it wasnt her bag even tho she played... I concider her vanilla.
#2... well... that year and a half was total vanilla.

Sometimes I still wonder if my appetites had anything to do with the demise of those relationships...

Greetings,

It has made me very intollerant of them. I don't hang out with regular people, I don't have "regular friends", and I don't particularly care for them invading my space. But having felt this way since I was a teenager, some 20-odd years, I have found a way to survive, peacefull with myself, without going on some "Post Office-mow-them-all-down-with-an-automatic-weapon-spree."

And no........contrary to what you all may believe.......there is no rule that states that I *must* like or hang out or socialize with sames.

Raven
