Bettman is the anti-christ of hockey. He's a mean, short little US worm who should be the accountant and not the commissioner of the National Hockey League. He watered down Canadian hockey by bringing it at high prices to southern US markets that couldn't care less about it, and making ticket prices unaffordable to the average Northern American family.
In the 90's pre-Bettman, you could see a Canadiens games for $20, tax included. That same seat today will cost ya $265.
Or would, except Bettman has decreed a lockout of the players and their union, and negotiations have stopped for at least 6 weeks. Again, for the 3rd time since Bettman's been commish, and the players are leaving to play in Europe.
I love watching good graceful hockey, the players' bods are dreamy, and in real life Canadian players are smart, funny, polite, good men and for once, good role models for kids, unlike basket- or football players.
F-Bettman, and not in a good way.

I do enjoy watching hockey, and about had a heart attack when I found out how much Seeking paid for our tickets! I wondered what went on to make prices so outlandish.

But I'm in Detroit, and grew up watching Don Cherry. :)

I met Steve Yzerman through an acquaintance, which taught me if you see a nice, polite, good looking but heavily scarred fit man in a suit that fits beautifully but looks way too expensive for him: he's NHL ;-).

I'm not there anymore, but years ago there was a lovely bunch of sub hockey players in Boston: I love Boston . . . :-)

As a former athelte I understand both side of this problem . What has happened in all sports not just hockey is this has become a Hugh business. Tickets no longer are good enough too pay bills for either side and the selling of shirts , hats , jerserys or sweaters as there known and referred to in the hockey world supplement and off set a lot of this . Both side want more same as any working Woman or Man . So the bottom line is the FANS suffer and pay the price In any lockout and when it's all said and done neither side will say the sorry to you the Fan. Who's Realy footing the bill for both sides think about it !!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah the price of sports now is crazy, I used to take my kids and nieces and nephews when they got good grades becuz I refuse to allow them to think $$ is at the end of the rainbow but it has got SOOOO expensive now that I let them pick what they want to do. The girls want T J Maxx and the boys lean towards video games, they hate it cuz I get learning ones and not "kill people" ones.

As a hockey fan from the Islander glory days, I was thrilled when South Florida got the Panthers. The ticket prices here aren't as bad as the rest of the league.

Now the baseball tickets prices (& parking fees) for the Marlins...? I won't be traveling to Miami to see them any time soon.

Hello burnt kitty. I'm also in south fla and your rite if you have ever been took marlins games wow big money ... Don't get me wrong great stadium but cost wise for a fan horrible .
