Being all too aware of my own verbal miscues, I generally refrain from pouncing on others'. But this was too funny not to share.

Well, I think since they haven't been around since 1992, it's time we abandoned them.

Seems prudent.

When will the dopey cons realize that no one (normal) knows WTF they`re talking about, with the apology malarkey....?

It only brings up that awful image of Mitt Romeny attacking and belittling our embassy staffs WHILE THEY ARE STILL UNDER FIRE over seas!!!!

Oh shit I was thinking of LYNN CHANEY... All I could think of is my bff Susan, she's a 6'2" tall stunningly beautiful lesbian. She used to be a college radio DJ. She and I sometimes go for drinks at a women's bar in Providence. There are two republican lesbians sha laughingly calls "clamshack republicans". I was laughing so hard hearing her riff on Lynn Chaney in my head. I deserve a good spanking.
Get the paddle Mike.

Wow, you just write any old bullshit that pops into your head, dont'ya?

Please provide a link to the actual speech in which Mitt Romney criticizes the embassy staffs while they are under fire... The only critical speech I have seen of Romneys in response to the attack on our embassies was directed at the Obama administration for their apologies to the attackers.

Thanks,
-SD-

What apology would that be?

The first statement Romney made was in response to a tweet made by an embassy employee in Cairo in which Romney claimed that tweet was "an apology by the Obama administration". The tweet was calling for everybody to keep a clear head.

Tuesday, about 6 a.m., before the attack in Benghazi (all times Eastern) the embassy released this statement, apparently referring to a provocative anti-Islam video, in an effort to cool tensions in the area. The statement came before protests on the American embassy in Cairo and the attack on the diplomatic mission in Benghazi.

"The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others."

That might sound apologetic for the film, and thus served to take responsibility for it, provoking the attack.

Oh, they understand well enough. To them it simply has to be an apology, since they exist only to flame Obama, and they can't (aren't able to) accept the idea of Obama being firm and cool in a crisis.

The embassy statetment is clearly a condemnation of the film, how the right take it as an apology beats me.

Are you saying the statement provoked the attack? That seems quite a stretch.

We seem, alas, to have reached a point of such hyperpartisanship in U.S. politics that everything under the sun--including, as we saw on another thread, the First Lady's figure--exists only as an opportunity to score points. I hope we grow out of this soon, but I'm not real hopeful.
