I know, he'a got a monkey!!! Reminds me of the golden that my ex-??? has, he also has a stuffed monkey that I had bought him, he would carry it everywhere and show it to you and "talk" about it.
I miss him sometimes...

I had the same reaction you had back when I was in my early twenties when I tried to contact FEMDOMs via Kinky Kontacts magazine. I didn't realize that the ladies listing there had all kinds of different agendas and that many of the profiles were not as advertised.

Don't let the chicanery of others get you down. The world is an interesting maze, the key is figuring out how to navigate it.

In the maze of life, use Google maps or a GPS. MapQuest will steer you wrong 80% of the time.

OP, sit back relax & watch a rockin' iguana.

He's just chillin'. No cares, no kids getting chased off lawns.

OP, that is going to happen to you a million more times until you get good at this site. Just...keep swimming!

OP, I've had guys try to pick me up in bars saying they were doctors or lawyers or drove a Maserati etc. People lie. It's an essential human trait. That's why we're all so good at it.

Nobody owes you anything. Really.

Hairlover. Learn to think with your big head.
This place is just like any place else. There's cool people and there's scammers and there's idiots. Kick back, take a deep breath and relax. Remember the old adage. If it looks too good to be true, it is.

This place isn't instaBDSM. It's like anyplace else. You're going to have to take your time and get to know folks. Beware Sub or Dom frenzy. That's where a noob goes crazy and falls in 'love' with the first person that says "hi".

There are good folk here but they tend to take it slow.

One last thing. You only need one good person. That said, does it make sense to worry about "all the bazillions of fakes"?
Don't worry about them. Ignore em. The only thing that obsessing about "fakes" does is fuck with your blood pressure.

Relaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. There's a person out there for you. dont get so wrung out on the ones who AREN'T for you that you miss them.

^^^^ What he said!

Very wise words.

I've tried a line like that too; "I've got a yacht, really" as she laughed and walked away.[8D] The best part was when she left, she got into her Ferrari. [8|]

You just never know.

SpaceSpank -> RE: Ratio from reals to fake (9/18/2012 9:01:31 AM)

When I used to live in NJ, one of the most idiotic things I saw was guys that could barely afford to pay rent and feed themselves (and sometimes couldn't) would spend crazy amounts of money just to wear all name brand clothing and drive a nice car. They were literally putting themselves into debt just to impress the ladies into thinking they had money.

So it's certainly not an online only phenomenon. Some people will go to insane lengths to convince people they are something they are not. Sometimes that extends to them trying to convince themselves they are something else as well.

I have a friend who is a doc doing research on the application radiation therapy in neurosurgery... so yeah... he's a nuclear physicist AND a brain surgeon. He drives a 911 too.

But when he meets chicks he takes his VW and tells them he's a general medic, because - who the fuck is going to believe him when he tells them what he actually does.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Ratio from reals to fake (9/18/2012 11:38:57 AM)

One of my clients rented a fancier car than the one he owned to see how the woman would react... thing is he could have easily bought that fancier car, but liked the one he had! She didn't last long. [;)]
