I think its a good steamy read - just don't go expecting it to be in the slightest bit accurate...

Read the first one out of curiosity and the second to find out how they resolved the end of first book.

It's not well written but it reads fast (i.e., it's difficult to put down.) The sex scenes are kind of hot but too short to wank off to. Also, they don't appear until fairly far into the first book.

There is much better erotica. Try "The Story of O" or Anne Rice/Roquelare's "Beauty" trilogy.

The best reason to read Fifty Shades is to understand the parody, "Fifty Shames of Earl Grey", which is hilarious and much more entertaining than the original books.
